After spending loads of money on computers and Hi-fi equipment this surge protector seemed the best way to protect my equipment against electricity spikes.

Having already purchased a previous surge protector from Belkin and found it excellent, I felt confident buying the newly designed - and priced, surgemaster.

I purchased two 8-way surgemasters, one with av sockets and one without. The sockets are slightly wider which is very handy for transformers and normal plugs alike. The unit seems well put together and very thoughtfully laid out. I prefer the two rows of four plugs design rather than a long run of eight. My only gripe is that the plugs do not seem to fit perfectly into the sockets and are easily dislodged - something which did not occur on the previous design.

Otherwise, with bold statements of lifetime guarantee and 175,000 warranty you can't go wrong. This is the best way to protect your valuable electrical equipment against surges - although not very common in London.

Perfect solution for someone who has loads of stuff to plug in. Currently i have three external harddrives, a wireless TV receiver, my electric piano, my monitor and my printer all plugged in, and it works fine. Two of the sockets are 'swivelable', which is great for those plugs with upwards facing wires. Phone surge connectors: 1xInput 2xOutput. So i guess this works as a splitter too. Brill :D
It's solid too, so i think it will last a fair while :)

I ordered the product as the one I had was a cheap and it broke after a few months.
I ordered this one and when I received it and unpacked, I just loved it instantly.
In the previous one I could only use 6 out of 8 sockets because of the big ones taking space.
In this one there is no problem with the big adapters, they fit comfortably.

After an hour with it working for my computer, I ordered another one for all my chargers :)

I think this is something really indisposable for every computer station.

I ordered one of these to replace a standard 6 plug extension bar. I was a little worried that the rather huge power supply for my cable modem wouldn't fit into it, but it slotted in just fine thanks to the rotating sockets at one end.

As mentioned in another review, there is one main on/off switch which doesn't take much pressure to activate, so be careful that you don't accidentally switch everything off. For less than a tenner though, you're getting a quality product with a lifetime warranty and up to 175,000 worth of insurance should it fail to protect your gear.
