I bought this product (thought not from this source) to replace an irritatingly slow wireless card in a desktop at home, and I've got to say I'm totally happy with it.
It's just as simple as it claims. I unboxed the adaptors, plugged one in by the desktop and attached a LAN cable, did the same at the other end of the line to connect to the router, powered up, and off it went. Nothing else to do.
It's miles quicker than wireless. My wife, the primary user of the desktop in question, was being driven slowly bonkers by the painfully slow printing operations to a shared printer on the network (not surprising it was slow to be fair). Now she's happy: it just prints like it was directly attached.
I could make a good case for forgetting about wireless connectivity on my laptop now: simply take one of these around the house with it and plug it in to a convenient socket.
Note that the device at the router end is plugged into a six gang extension, and it still works just fine. I guess it might be quicker directly into a socket, but it seems fine to me.
Excellent product, highly recommended.

I have been looking for access to my router in my old cotswold stone house with thick walls for a long time, but did not want to spend a fortune on wiring a router
This product is the perfect answer - could not be easier to set up and use - literally takes less than a minute and I am not very computer literate !!!
Cannot recommend highly enough

I wish I had seen this product before. It was a waste of time and money tinkering about with wireless and pulling my hair out. Wireless works for some environments but its similar to your mobile phone,losing its signal! Just plug in to mains power sockets and plug in ethernet and it works! no set up disasters plug and play, I was up and running in less than 30 seconds, The ZyXEL PLA-401 is top notch at 200Mbps, I have a laptop a desktop PC, they are 35 mts apart, the benefit of Homeplug is you can use your computer anywhere in the house so long as there is a mains socket. I put my Broadband router at my BT main incoming phone jack that is in a cuboard, The other thing is plug in Homeplug to mains and ethernet cable suppiled to PC, and similae to Laptop.

Arrived today. Within two-three minutes my home wireless network was extended via the mains to our dead spot in the living room. This could not have been easier. What's more I tested these with one of the units plugged into a cheap mains 4-way extension lead. Again absolutely fine. Connection is a solid 100 Mbps. A superb product that does exactly what it claims to do.

I can only support the previous comments.
From opening the box to connecting the PC was less than 5 minutes. Within 10 minutes my network security was setup and raring to go.
I had failed to establish a wireless network and was beginning to despair (I am IT literate but my property is a wireless nightmare).
Speed is excellent - I use my "hub" PC and the satellite in unison and performance on both is fine.
This is the first time I have been prompted to write a review - it is that good.
