5 out of 5 stars a great adaptor for a great price!!!   February 7, 2008

after what seemed like an age trying to find an adaptor that would work with an orange livebox i stumbled across this and decided for 14 i couldnt go that much wrong. I'm glad i got it, installed straight away (as another reviewer says plug the adaptor in and then insert disc.) thats it that was it installed. Found and Connected to the live box straight away, (if you have a livebox follow oranges instructions and dont forget to put the livebox in pairing mode by pressing the one button on the side) entered the security codes for the livebox and was away. connected to the room directly above the router and it has never dropped the connection so far, and always hovers around 3-4 bars, which isnt exceptional but its good enough for most people's needs, its a modest 54mbs which is good for the price. the only minor drawback, (which is pretty common, is the size, its quite wide for a usb device and so may obstruct any other usb points. It gets a little hot but not so hot that it'll burn a hole in your desktop.

sure it might not be the top of the range adaptor but it is a great and reliable (so far) adaptor, which im using to write this review right now :D

5 out of 5 stars Works fine with my Mac / PC combo   August 1, 2007

I'm using a Netgear wireless router on a mac-mini in my kitchen to connect to the internet. I bought this Lm adaptor for my XP PC that is two floors up and I had no problem connecting with the router with signal strength of 40-50% registered by the Lm software. By comparison, my centrino laptop in the same room as the PC can't connect to the router at all!

So far a reliable connection which is great.

5 out of 5 stars Great piece of equipment and software   January 28, 2008

Usually I have trouble with the wireless connection on my Panasonic Toughbook laptop; but the LM Network Adaptor has changed all that. Installing the software was simplicity itself; and it also offers full control via a control panel. My only complaint would be that it is far too easy to select the option of Windows managing the process instead of the bundled software - and using Windows was why I kept having trouble connecting in the past when I was using D-Link adaptors. I am using a D-Link modem router - model number: DSL2640B. That too has excellent software: very easy to understand - unlike the Buffalo product that I had before. Operating system of the Panasonic - Windows XP Professional.

I bought this wireless adaptor to try out as all others i have tried did not work on my computor, but this one did, and it's verry siple to install i didn't even have to look at the instructions all i did was plug it in, then it asks for the hardwere or driver i put the disk in and it found it, click next next and haypresto just look for your wirless reciver and put in your code. Done, the best adaptor ive had.

I was it saved me a lot of time connecting to WiFi was easy with their software and i prefer not to open the PC and install PCI cards as my warranty would have been void. Have recently learnt how to use its encryption so now it is secure connection as well. Much easier for my laptop than cables.
