It works VERY well. I am most impressed. I've got a Velodyne subwoofer, and it kept blowing the fuse on a low cost sub 15 extrension with surge protection... I wondered, but I noticed after the fuse blown a few times in the speakers power amp, that the Surge light wasn't illuminating anymore. It lasted a month or two before giving up the ghost.
However this Belkin is going stong, and has protected against any further issues with the fuses. I'm happy that this has been able to mitigate the surges in our area without any reliability concerns. Thumbs up!

Hi,
This device has excellent build quality. The darker colour hides its presence in the shadows. With the need for T.V, Freeview, DVD player and legacy video recorder just to have enough plugs is a boon, but to have 8 sockets is great. But to have surge protection and antenna protection is comforting. If you have a transformer for a device, these can physically block the adjacent plug. The nice continuation of having a swivelling socket allows a freeing of an otherwise wasted socket. When I received the device I was very pleased that these version includes an antenna cable, so I can protect the T.V. antenna straight away, magic!
These used to cost well over 48 for an 8 socket, when I last bought mine in 2000. If you have had the misfortune (2002) to suffer a lightning strike and lost major pieces of electrical equipment in the house, you tend to see these as essential equipment and replace as required. These can protect your equipment for several years even with daily usage. Finally, we are all concerned about the environment. Being able to easily turn off several devices at night with one switch encourages you to save energy.

Recently my Mum said that her Sky+ box kept crashing. Sky has replaced numerous boxes and still they crash/fail. They are known to have cheap power supplies, which would suggest they would have no tolerance to power fluctuations. I have never ever had any trouble with my box. However my box gets its power from a Belkin PureAV Home Cinema Surge Protector, which I bought to protect my HDTV (this set up was in my Mum's house before I moved out and I had no problems). So I thought I would try one on my Mum's setup. Sure enough she hasn't experienced one problem since it went in. So they obviously do something.

Another good Belkin product, with top of the line surge protection, however buyer beware; the item shipped is not the item pictured. The displayed item is the US version of this product so anyone looking for satellite cable connectors, as I was, will be disappointed with the standard coaxial connectors on the UK unit.A better product fot those looking for the satellite connector is product #B0002TSU9W.
