Product Description
The Sony Walkman NWZ-E436F MP3 player gives you greater freedom to take your music wherever you like. Its 4 GB capacity gives you enough storage space E for up to 925 songs (at 128 Kbps) or up to 15 hours of video footage (at 384 Kbps). The NWZE436F also has a built-in FM tuner with 30 pre-set stations, so all your favourite radio stations are always at your fingertips. You can also watch high-quality, smooth images on its 2" screen thanks to its video playback at 30 fps. The Sony NWZ-E436F uses a simple drag and drop system that makes it incredibly easy to use - even for technophobes. For an affordable, easy-to-use multimedia player, the NWZ-E 436F Walkman is definitely a smart choice.

5 out of 5 stars A good Buy!   December 21, 2008

After using my Samsung 1GB MP3 player (very basic pen drive style) for a couple of years, I decided that I was going to give myself a Christmas treat and get myself a new MP3 player with a bit more memory. I'm not a technophobe but I have never been interested in all the "hi tech" features that newer players have. I looked around and found the Sony NWZ-E436FB 4GB Drag & Drop MP4 Video Player with FM tuner in Black. It was a reasonable price as my Husband had bought a 2GB MP3 player for the same price 3 months back. After receiving it in the post at 9am, by 10am I had put all my songs on there. I didn't even have to look at the manual as it is so straight forward and easy to use. The display and menu system is very much like a mobile phone and very well set out. I had never used BBC iPlayer before, and after discovering that I could download and add them to the player I did so and it was very simple and ended up watching BBC's Hole in the wall in bed that evening! The one con I found with the MP3 Player is that it uses half a GB for the operating system it has which does limit the amount of music, videos and pictures that you can place on there. Apart from that issue, the MP3 player is a winner and I would highly recommend it to all that enquire!

5 out of 5 stars Sony Walkman   November 10, 2008

This is my first mp3/4 player and after reading various reviews and remembering the great build quality on my old cassette walkman I decided on the Sony.

I bought this product for the music and don't expect to upload videos or photos so can't make any comment about these functions.

I went for this model because it included a radio for basically the same price as the alternatives without.

Ease of use - not only simple but so intuitive I hardly needed to refer to the pdf manual.
Sound Quality - I can't compare against the i-pod, as I've never owned one, but the sound quality on the Sony is truly amazing. I am hearing parts of the music I don't even hear on my living room stereo.
Headphones - They are superb and at this point I'm not considering changing the bundled phones.
Looks and build quality - first class. It's small light and looks far more expensive.
Faults - It looks so good it needs a case to protect it from daily knocks but I haven't found one suitable.

Would I buy this product again? A big yes but would definitely upgrade to the 8 or even 16gig. A truly great little product.

Stone me, this is neat! Downloaded Wallace and Gromit from iplayer. Just like watching telly only smaller. Thats my only problem. I dont need glasses to watch telly but I do for this. (Not unexpected!) Quality of video and audio is perfect - even an old git can work it out without instruction manual (I'll read it later in case I've missed things it can do). Best to use Windows explorer to copy stuff to it as the 'Media Mangler' supplied is slower and can't see my iplayer downloads, even though I've told it the directory to look at.
Anyway, off to work out what a playlist is - and probably read the manual! haha 9.9 out of 10
