I bought this as a first MP-3 player to see if I could use it for listening to voice podcasts on my bus journeys to work and gym, not expecting much for the price. I was pleasantly surprised at its features and performance.
Uploading pod-casts was easy and straightforward: I plugged it into a USB slot on my desktop machine, it was immediately recognised by my operating system (Linux Ubuntu), and I just dragged and dropped the podcast files onto the IMP-65.
Upsides:
1. It does what it says it will do- all the functions worked;
2. Sound quality seems good to me, though I am hearing-impaired, so can't judge that very well. There are six different equalizer settings for getting the right sound.
3. It's easy to move from one file ("song") to the next.
Downsides:
1. The 'mode' function for changing settings and other housekeeping tasks didn't work as per the instructions, but some trial-and-error button-pushings revealed the right sequences;
2. The multicoloured flashing screen lighting is irritating;
3. The earphones aren't all that comfortable: too large and the wrong shape for me.
... but, hey, for the price, who can complain? A nice little basic MP-3 player.
