| Customer Reviews:
Kids love this thing, and it is very easy to use March 21, 2008 R. Price (London) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I got one of these for my son, who loves it. So I got one for my nephew, who also loves it. On buying one for one of my nieces the other niece also seemed to take a shine to it so now both nieces have one. It has been a great success. It is very easy to use. It takes SD cards so can be upgraded to larger memory sizes. This also makes it easy to transfer files from a computer if you have an SD card slot (you don't have to use the cable). I notice from another review that this product hasn't been popular with some parents. However, it clearly states on the Sandisk website that it only plays MP3 and WMA files so that should have been obvious to anyone buying it. Anyway, there is loads of good cheap software available that will (legally) convert protected files of any format to unprotected MP3 in a matter of seconds per track, so that really isn't difficult. It will clearly play anything you rip off a CD into MP3. Personally, I suggest you convert all your music like this, as MP3 is still one of the few file formats that all players will play (not everything plays WMA/AAC/Ogg/etc and only relatively new players support DRM). Then you only need one set of files for all the family as opposed to having everything in lots of formats.
simple and fun August 27, 2008 Arbie (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just recieved one of these as a present for my 4yr old daughter, really impressed. Its well built, small and very simple to use. It has a removal SD memory card makes it a cinch to upgrade the capacity and add mp3's 2 Headphone sockets External speaker which is surprisingly loud and clear.
My little boy loves it. November 9, 2008 Mrs. D. Kirk (Hornchurch, Essex) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sansa Shaker 512Mb Pink MP3 Player - I bought this MP3 player as a present for my son's 3rd birthday and he loves it - he never puts it down and has it with him all the time. The player is intended for children aged 8 or over, but it is perfect for my son. It is sturdy, easy to use, has a reasonably good output from its speaker and whilst the batteries are concealed so that my son can't find them, they are easy to remove and do not require a screwdriver. The player will not play Windows Media Audio files so you have to convert everything to MP3 format. I did this with Roxio software which I already had but it might be a problem if you want to put a CD on it and don't know how to convert the songs to MP3 format. It also uses its battery up very quickly so I have now bought a battery charger and rechargeable batteries for it. Apart from that it is a great MP3 player, especially for a young child who won't use earphones.
