Small but perfectly formed May 6, 2004 Mr. Oliver C. Wright (UK) 102 out of 104 found this review helpful
Fuji have produced yet another fine camera with the Fuji Q1. Many Q1s will be sold on looks alone. Packing many features found in more expensive models, the Q1 is aimed squarely at happy snappers, teenagers, people new to digital photography and the technophobic. It's also ideal for people who have dabbled and been disappointed with the often pathetic results from camera equiped mobile phones. The Fuji Q1 is fun and easy to use. Whilst it's 2 MegaPixel picture capability is unlikely to impress the professional photographer, it should be more than adequate for the ordinary user. Photos taken on this camera can be developed at most high street developers and will be indistinguishable from regular film at normal picture sizes. Features include an excellent 1.45" colour LCD preview screen (almost unheard of on budget cameras), an automatic flash with red-eye reduction, macro mode - for taking crystal clear close up shots and 8Mb of onboard memory in addition to an XD picture card slot for adding greater capacity. Fun aspects include the video record and playback mode allowing you to take short bursts of silent full colour movie (no sound) with duration only limited by the available memory. With it's stylish looks, compact size and easy to use features you will want to take the Q1 anywhere there is a photo opportunity. The beauty of the Q1, as with most digital cameras, is that you need never take another bad picture again. If you don't get the picture you want first time simply preview it on the LCD screen, delete it and take the shot again. To sum up, an excellent camera for first timers made by a "proper" camera manufacturer.
Happy Daughter September 6, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this camera for my daughter's birthday as she was constantly complaining about the bad quality of her camera phone. When she opened it, she stuck a couple of batteries, the pack of 24 for 1.50!, and started snapping away. She was very impressed with the results on the 2m mega-pixel resolution. She was running back in forward to her laptop because of the 8mb lack luster memory, so I recently gave her my 64mb xd card as I just recently got the 1Gb for my 6m Fuji F410, see review. All in all a good camera for outside shots and inside depending on the lighting. All her friends like it and they all want one!
So easy to use August 21, 2006 Mr. D. M. Jowett Bought one for my 6 year old, he's taken literally 1000's of good pictures. The bad ones are all his fault, not the cameras...
