Great companion for running and cycling April 20, 2007 Mr. S. Kirk (Wantage) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
This new shuffle is just fantastic, I have downloaded the complete wildhearts album backlog to it plus all the solo stuff from the band (about 20 albums) and still have masses of space left. It is ideal for my running and cycling as I just clip it to something even a sleeve end and it stays put. The sound quality is great, i was a little worried about that having been unimpressed with my last couple of MP3 players. Finally it has survived two or three pretty brutal mountain bike smash's, and a couple of monsoons, and is still looking new and in great working order. So good I am getting some more for the family.

I bought this for my wife as she loves all things pink. We have two little girls and this seems like the most indestructible option as it has a metal finish and no screen to crack! Needless to say, the sound quality is very good and it is incredibly easy to use. I have a Creative Zen which I love, but if I'm out doing something active, I may have to 'borrow' the Shuffle for a while! As it is flash memory with no moving parts, and has the metal case I mentioned previously - this should be a long lasting gadget addition to our home. The looks are phenomenal, no pictures do this any justice, it has to be held in the hand to realise how gorgeous and small this little delight is. When you hold it, the build quality becomes apparent, the metal finish feels lovely and the metal on off switch is not easy to accidentally knock and switch the thing off. For anyone who wants a basic MP3 player then I can recommend this, there ARE cheaper ones out there, but this looks and feels like a quality piece of kit. ...and the built in clip comes in handy!
Oh how Pretty In Pink...! February 12, 2007 Shawade (UK) 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
If you are a runner, then this HAS to be on your shorts somewhere. Steve Jobs has freed up the lone-runner experience over the past few years. Only 4 or 5 years ago my right hand had a Sony Waterproof Cassette Walkman velcro'ed to it (if the Walkman was clipped to your waist it jumped and warbled too much) which also meant to carry a water bottle tied up both your hands. The first generation iPod Shuffle was a revalation, not only could you carry more music than you needed even for a marathon but it fitted into the key pocket on most running shorts. (but your house key was relegated to being tied on to your laces) Now with the new version, you can clip it to your shorts and feel no bulk or weight atall whilst running along to all your best running and motivational tunes. And your keys can go back into the thoughtfully placed pocket on your shorts. The included headphones, like for all iPods are pretty awful and do not stay in your ears when running but other than that the new Shuffle has to be the best workout kit (and bargain) of the year. As of this week in the US Apple have released the Shuffle in a number of different (bright and terrific) colours. They are outstanding.....
Highly recommended August 15, 2007 Magic Rat (uk) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
What a great little gadget ! For only 45 too. I bought one for my wife to use at the gym clipped to her top as she runs and we duly loaded it full of 70s disco classics (of course you can change the songs around whenever you wish by simply dragging and dropping new ones in). Easy to use, no time-consuming, fiddly software to download from disc (other than ensuring you have i tunes on your computer of course). Just buy it, plug it in , get some songs on it and off you go. It is tiny and will fit into any pocket, handbag etc. One small word of warning though, because of its size there is no room for a sound equaliser as on regular, larger i pod products, so the sound is a standard default, which leaves the bass just a tiny bit light. Otherwise, all in all it is a truly wonderful little thing !
Thank You Apple! April 8, 2007 sdc 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Apple once again have delivered a product worthy of 5 stars. I bought the Shuffle to use in the gym - and it's fantastic. You can just about clip it to anything - whether it be a shirt pocket, an arm sleeve, trouser pocket or the waistband of trousers, it sits perfectly and is accessible. It doesn't take long at all to get used to - the Shuffle has many features yet it keeps it's minimilistic simplicity. You can even almost choose which song will come next by uploading the songs onto it in alphabetic order of name or artist, and then flick the switch from 'shuffle' to the order button on the shuffle. I've dropped the shuffle many times: it still works and there are minimal scratches on it. It has everything you need on it and it's so small. Well done Apple - I really like this product and would recommend it to everyone. There are even five different colours to suit everybody!
