Near the best ! December 16, 2007 Soheil Mokhtari (UK) 84 out of 87 found this review helpful
Finally a phone which you can tell it to shut up during the night automatically!! I am using cordless phones for more than 12 years, this is one of the best. Pros: Brilliant screen resolution Very clear sound on both speaker/handset mode Easy to use Phonebook with 200 entries Very good battery life Sleep mode (turn the phone off during night on a time set by you) Many Ringtones Reasonable answering machine record time (40min) Ability to send SMS through landline phone (works with BT) Alarm clock (could be set to everyday) Cons: Screen remains on for the duration of charging There is no battery low alert Limited Wallpapers Caller lists could be better (specially with a delete all function) Shiny finish needs clean hands! UPDATE: as one user posted as comment, you can assign Phonebook contacts to different categories, and then assign each category a different ringtone. There are 9 categories in all, and you can rename them; e.g. family, work, etc... * I'm using the phone for 8 months now.
Just what i wanted December 29, 2007 A. Langdon (Dartford, United Kingdom) 58 out of 62 found this review helpful
I have been looking for a replacement cordless phone for a while and this is absolutely perfect. It didnt work straight out of the box but this was down to me not reading the manual as i had thought i could use my existing telephone cable. I changed this and it worked fine. The menus are simple and pretty straight forward. When you create entires in the phone book on one there is the option of copying them over to the other handset. This is nice as if you want to "personalise" a handset in the house (for the kids) you can let themn store their numbers on one. If copying numbers over it only applies to names and numbers - not categories (see below for their uses). The feature that sold it to me is the "night time" which turns off the ringer between a certain time (we chose 11pm and 6). We have received rude calls late at night so have the bt call blocking feature so this adds another level of protection. You can set groups to bypass this using categories so if you bundle family into one they will be able to get through any time. Note as this is a 2 piece phone a little tinkering with the categories as these dont copy over apparently. The reception, style and easy of this use of the phone are top notch. As i have only had it for a few days i cant comment on the battery life but reading other reviews it appears to be good.
Should have bought a set sooner! June 1, 2008 Blue Spark (Kent, UK) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
Thinking our old BT twins (Studio 1500) had given up on us, I was looking for a replacement set of DECT phones and couldn't ignore the number of good reviews the Panasonic models have got on here, and various other sites I trust. I almost chose the KX-TG7222 pair, but the sleek look and larger buttons of the TG8222 won in the end. Compared to our old basic BT phones, the features of the Panasonics are fantastic; saving contacts from the caller ID list, remote access/setup of the answerphone from the handset, Night Mode (great if you've got teens) to name but a few. You might have to go through a couple of menus to find some of them though. The reception and quality of calls is great, though it's too early to comment on the battery life. The display is good, menu navigation is fairly simple and will surely get more familiar in time. All in all, a top choice; we really should have bought something along these lines sooner. We since found out the problem wasn't actually with our old BT phones; it was with the local exchange. We certainly won't be getting rid of these and going back to our old BT phones though!
Ticks all the boxes March 18, 2008 A. Mearns (UK) 28 out of 31 found this review helpful
This is a feature rich home phone which allows upto 6 handsets registered to the base unit which means you can use it for home/small office environment without having to wire in different line jack units. The coverage is good- the speaker phone is decent and its sleek and non imposing- as the yanks would say it doesn't take up much desktop real estate :D. Its got a mobile feel to it, is easy to set up (tooke me about 2mins) and although 200 numbers isn't much you can enter the numbers on one handset and copy to all others. The blocking feature is a nice feature (based on time of day or whether caller ID is withheld). Most public network providers now bundle text with your line rental- again another feature thats easy to use. All in all very happy with it. In the end I got it from argos as it was cheaper there ;-)

Very clear sound [unlike my old cordless phone, and another one I tried and returned] and good size buttons! Easy to set up and operate. Highly recommend.
