Belkin Surge Protector (4 Socket) September 6, 2003 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
Another highly efficient, yet underrated product from Belkin. For those amongst you that do not know, your electrical equipment is at risk of being damaged through electrical spikes or surges and most insurance companies have small print which will not cover you for equipment that has been damaged as a result of such events. I purchased the SurgeMaster to safeguard my TV, Video and DVD player. The product is compact and well built and comparatively cheap in view of the protection it provides for your equipment. I would (s)urge you to buy this product for your own piece of mind. After all, what do you stand to lose?
A MUST for every household..... July 19, 2007 Mrs. Sa Drewett (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
well your never guess what happened..... our house got struck by lightning, the whole house shook and it wasn't good. its lucky that i kitted my whole house out with these surge protectors no more than two months before this happened , they have more than likely saved me thousands of pounds. so , like many others have said its one of those products that holds a question mark but i would seriously recommend that you invest in some of these, before its too late.
What can I say about a set of plugs? November 29, 2003 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Not much ! I needed an extension for a single socket to accomodate a DSL modem and Ethernet hub, so I chose a protected socket extension. Made well, and works well.
It's stupid not to have one May 13, 2005 Tom Douglas (Oxford, United Kingdom) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
Surge protectors are curious things. You have no way of knowing whether they are working. My PC didn't explode today - was that thanks to Belkin, or because there were no surges? You only ever know for sure that it isn't working, not that it is. But anyway, I have seen a PC explode during a thunder storm. I recovered, but the PC didn't. It was a few years ago, but the PC was high-spec and only 3 months old. A Belkin surge protector costs less than a pizza. Go figure. Any decent mathmetician would now point out that we should consider: [cost of PC] x [risk of exploding] vs [cost of surge protector] True, but emotionless. An exploding PC is no fun at all. For a few pounds you can avoid that (I think). So do it.
Does what it says January 15, 2005 J. Mitchell (Scotland) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I decided to buy the Belkin Surge Protector to protect my TV, DVD player and Playstation 2 which I didn't want to get damaged as a result of the electricity supply. It's great and you really can't lose anything from this apart from 7 or 8 quid. The best part of this is the cable thing which keeps your cables all neat and tidy. And it's well better paying that than hundreds of pounds for new stuff. But on the other side you could say the likelehood of anything happening is rare. You're taking a risk if you don't buy this but it's up to you. If you don't care about your electrical goods I guess you aren't going to buy this. 9/10. John Mitchell
