Having had some moron steal my Tom Tom, I took my time before ordering a replacement. decided upon the Nuvi 250W and I'm very impressed.
Upon plugging in, it picked up the satellite/s in the blink of an eye...
the screen display in my opinion is superior to the Tom Tom...
the lady speaking to you is very informative...
if you take a wrong turn, she/it re-calculates much quicker than my previous Tom Tom...
it's lighter and more pocket friendly...
the windscreen mount is better than the Tom Tom...
and unbeknown to me upon ordering, you get an optional dashboard mounting too so as to avoid it being clearly visbile through the screen...
All in all, I am delighted and would recommend this wholeheartedly...
The Tom Tom was very good... the Garmin is better.

As with most technology these days theres a lot of choice, so when deciding which SAT NAV to go for I read several reviews for this model & also various SONY & TOM TOM models which were helpful as there were some very valid points highlighted.The reviews helped me make the decision to go for the NUVI 250W. I wanted a widescreen and Euro mapping and as this has it already loaded it was the ideal choice @ 135,as buying mapping software can be expensive afterwards !! I ordered this model @ 13:00 hrs on a Thursday,requested express delivery and as promised it arrived @ 11:00 the next day,what more can you ask ?? As for the NUVI250W,well "it does what it says on the tin" as they say,mine worked straight of out the box,didn't need charging first,found satellites quickly,even indoors.It's simple to use and easy to navigate through the menus.I know some people have had problems but I can't say that i've found any yet, the only downside is that it doesn't come with a USB lead but then my digital camera lead fits fine. Some reviewers have winged about there being no mains charger, but I only use mine in the car and it comes with a in-car charger so why do you need one ?? I would recommend this product.
