You Choose August 19, 2006 jenny g (Scotland) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
Our 5 year old daughter has hardly put this book down since choosing it from a book shop 3 weeks ago. Great for make-believe and imagination - she loves to pretend to be different characters and choose houses, clothes, friends, pets, jobs etc accordingly. She encourages everyone she meets from age 2 to 90 (just about) to share the book with her and choose what they would like to be and do. The illustrations are bright and colourful and great for vocabulary building and just for fun too!
Hours of fun on every page December 13, 2005 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
You Choose is one of the best children's books I have ever seen. It allows young children to interact at story time from a very early age and has allowed me to read one "story" to all my children at once - all four are under 5. They can each take turns at choosing an item on each page and then you can get them to describe it - helping them to develop their vocabulary in an extremely fun way. Each page is crammed with images - all different and all with a story that you could tell about each one. You can spend a few minutes at bed time with it or hours if you have the energy and patience. My 3 and 4 year old also love to just sit and pour over all the pictures and make up stories associated with each one. It is trully fabulous.
Hours of Fun March 12, 2007 fluffytownes (Essex, UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
My 2 year old got given this book by a friend. So many hours were spent going through this book, from places her would go, where he would live, what he would eat and who his favourite animal is. The book was so well loved, that this is my second copy after the first one wore out! My sons vocab has improved so much and knows words and recognises things that older kids in his nursery class don't. Highly recommended.
My girls love this book! May 26, 2004 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
My two little girls (aged 3 and 6) love this book. We read it almost everynight. The 3 year old also spends a lot of time looking at it by herself as there aren't many words. The book itself is a large picture book, so it is easy to read to both of them. The book starts off with asking where do you want to live and has a full two pages of options, drawn flowing from one habitat to another(from jungle to waterfalls, country, city, beach etc) The art work is simple black line drawings filled in with bold color. Each page then goes on to let the kids choose their friends and family(from many diverse pictures in frames) and choose where to live(again a wide range of choices), what to wear, eat and drive. It is a great book and I highly recomend it!
A pleasure to share with children of all ages! March 11, 2006 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
A friend of mine, who reads this book with her three year old daughter, suggested it for sharing with the children who I work with. They have low self esteem and suffer from emotional problems. It is a new way for them to share with me their views on what they would like to change in their lives or how they would like things to be.I can read it with all of the children from 4-13 and I am sure they will all benefit greatly as will my team.
