Latest title in a winning series for very young children May 15, 2001 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
My one-year old son has enjoyed the "That's not my..." series since he was about 6 months old and this latest title did not disappoint. I'm convinced that he recognised it as being similar to the books such as "That's not my train" which he returns to again and again. This title introduces new textures and there is slightly more detailed illustration on each page than in the previous books - giving you items to discuss with your young reader. The chunky pages also allow older babies to explore the book on their own.
Worth its weight in gold February 27, 2007 Nicola O'toole (U.K) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this book thinking it was just another book when my son was 6 months old and it wouldn't get looked at like numerous others. My son loves it and passes it to me every single day. I know the pages inside out as does he. He touches the pages in the right place and his face lights up when he touches the right touchy parts on the page. Teaches colours and touch and there is a little mouse on every page to find. I guess it would also help with reading but my son is only 14 months and a bit young for that yet. I have 3 other titles in the range and would recommend them to any parent that is prepared to read to their child. You have to buy more because there is only so much of the same book you can take!!!!
The Tractor Obsession in 4 easy steps August 17, 2001 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
STAGE ONE: before your child even knows the word 'tractor', use this book to introduce colours. STAGE TWO: just as your child is grasping colours, use this book to introduce a host of nouns (seat, wheels, and of course tractor) STAGE THREE: when you think your child has becomes a technical expert in the parts of a tractor, distract her/him with strange adjectives (squashy, scratchy) STAGE FOUR: complete your child's obsession with tractors by encouraging her/him to rubbish all other forms of transport using the words learned in the previous three stages. SUCCESS GUARANTEED! YOU WILL PRODUCE A TRACTOR BORE!
