this is the only book that covers the whole syllabus to the depth required to get you through the current A+ exam. This exam is HARD and i should know i just passed an hour ago
Excellent book! December 14, 2004 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I bought this book to study for A+ exams...I then also decided to be really smart and borrow other additional books from the local library (Exam Cram 2 and A+ Bible)...My first piece of advice to any would be purchasers of this book is to not use any other books!! This book covers everything you need to know with extra details which are interesting/needed and should be tested by COMPTIA. It really is a great book and I passed both tests first time and have now orderd Mike Meyers Network+ book as I am sure it is going to be just as good!
Absolute newbie to the a+ April 5, 2005 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I'd recommend this book to anyone young or old wanting to know about hardware and Windows basics and who wants to pass a+!After 3 weeks of heavy reading i've passed one of the two exams and taking the second in 2 weeks! I am 19 and haven't ever been a technician (only building my own computers from time to time) and this book is brilliant. It filled in all those gaps from how exactly hard drives store data all the way up to the important bits of every major Windows release. Meyers adds his own style of humour and witty comments so even the worst subjects are covered with the least amount of pain.
Superb reading and ingestion April 9, 2006 K. Hinkley (Essex) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Just about half way throught his book now and i must say most of what i have read i already know, but it's great to have a refresher. Buy this book if you want to get a fundamental knowledge of the workings of a P.C inside and out...This book really is the Bible for anyone wanting to do the A+ course and Exams..... Forget what the last reviewer had to say as he obviously needs to get back to basics.... Buy this book you will not regret it.

Compliments to Michael Myers. This book covers EVERYTHING, the historical and conceptual areas give a backgroud to how parts were made. the practice tests in the book and the on the cd are exeptional. I passed first time - well done.
