The BOY is back once again ! April 30, 2005 Fred E Sergeant IV 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
George continues to prove that he is "ONE OF A KIND"- funny how some people don't like his comments and opinions and claim that no one wants to listen anymore when they clearly do or they would'nt even take the time to comment- hence some of the negative reviews on here. Boy is truly interesting, intelligent, and a talent unlike any pop star we have ever seen.
Live mama, LIVE! March 23, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
George takes aim at several sacred cows (pun intended!) such as McDonna, Elton (Dame Panto) John, and George Michael. His comments ring true, as always, and are so funny you'll catch yourself laughing out loud! The only drawback is that some of the chapters seemed to be recycled from his former newspaper column. The most interesting for me were the chapters on Taboo and his life in NYC and the freakies that inhabit that berg. If your a fan, youll buy it no matter what and if your not a fan you wont read it anyways!!!

This is everthing one could ever hope for - brilliantly written with experienced rock journo Paul Gorman - and is a further chapter in the life of one of the world's most inspirational and colourful creative personalities. As wicked as ever but always with a sparkle in his eye - STRAIGHT is a worthy successor to TAKE IT LIKE A MAN. You won't be disappointed - this is a terrific rollercoaster of a book.
Straight to my head March 18, 2005 DJ Ridge (Allentown PA, USA) 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
The cd that comes with this book alone makes it worth the purchase. "Panic" is one of the nicest songs he's ever written. I've been an avid boy fan since the early days of Culture Club. Though I've not always 'liked' everything Boy has done, I've always admired his courage to just be himself and flip the finger at anyone with a negative comment. I only started the book but ten pages into it, I can tell I'm going to savour every word on every page. I already catch myself smiling at his quirky and bitchy remarks. George has an odd way of looking at the world sometimes, perhaps the reason that drew me to him as a fan back in the early 80's. There was just always something about him that I truly admired. This book is no exception. Thank you Boy for blessing us with the fruits of your labor still in 2005. Please don't ever go away.
Fantastic Sequel March 15, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Boy George is fantastic. If you've seen 'Taboo' you'll love this book. A great carry on to 'Take it like a man'. Funny and entertaining.
