Light 'n breezy June 19, 2008 William the Almost Great (Cork) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
WEDDING SEASON IS THE perfect summer read, or perfect read for anytime of the year. I rank this right up there with THIS CHARMING MAN and THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. This is story of Sarah, Bron, and Elsa who seem to have the knack of pulling off the perfect weddings and organizing everything . . . but their own lives. The contrast between their Swiss-watch perfection in making other's dreams come true, and the funny events that ruin and run their own lives is refreshing and somehow real-life-like. The dialogue is great and the characters are three dimensional. What was the one thing I didn't like about WEDDING SEASON? I couldn't put it down.
Another brilliant book from Katie Fforde June 3, 2008 Bridget O (UK) 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
A wonderful story of 3 women who become friends because they all spend time making other people's wedding day perfect. The story revolves around Sarah, the wedding organiser, who doesn't want to believe in love. This has all the usual Katie Fforde wit and sense of humour, with 3 gorgeous heroes to fall in love with. So easy to lose yourself in the story - left me smiling all day.
Katie Fforde at her sparkling best June 4, 2008 Damaskcat (UK) 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
This is one of Katie Fforde's best books in my opinion. I have been slightly disappointed with her last few but this has all the wit and sparkle of her early books. Sarah, Bron and Elsa all work together to make weddings perfect for other people. Their own love lives are harder to organise. The background is excellent with lots of information about all the things which go into making the perfect wedding and what can go wrong at the last minute A feel good romp with brilliant dialogue. There is a better balance between dialogue and description with this book than there has been in previous books from this author. I absolutely loved it and was sad to finish it.
A brilliant easy summer read - much better than her last one! July 23, 2008 Easterchick (Warwickshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of Katie Fforde and have read every book since The Rose Revived. Unlike her last book, which was drivel, I actually enjoyed the characters in this one, and it made a change to have a book which wasn't based around a canal boat! Everyone loves a wedding, and a celebrity wedding even more so. OK, so, how the love lives would pan out was obvious from the start - so what? That to me is one of the joys of KF's books - you don't have to think too hard :-) If you want something that makes you think, go get The Guardian. If you want a relaxing book to take on the beach this summer, that's going to cheer you up because you know from the start everything will turn out well - this fits the bill perfectly!
My favourite Katie Fforde book October 18, 2008 H (Milton Keynes) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this. I was sorry when I'd finished it. It made me smile at the end. It's uplifting. You warm to each of the three main female characters. They're all flawed, but very likeable, as are their men! You want things to work out between them all. The detail regarding wedding planning etc. was interesting.
