5 out of 5 stars Portrait of a planet   November 3, 2002

I'm a undergraduate doing a geology degree and I would recomend this as a great text for A-Level and degree Geology and Physical Geography, Meterology and Oceanography.
It has been beautifully illustrated, but unlike some texts contains accurate and up to date information, in a clear and consice way.
It tackles all issues from climate to ocean circulation to the big bang, and links them well. Allthough a little pricey, it has been invauble to me.
