The kind I like May 13, 2008 Randy F. (Wragford) 15 out of 19 found this review helpful
I like two types of book: those that MOVE or those that are funny. REMEMBER ME would fall into both categories. And yes, you're going to have to suspend your disbelief for this book, but what "good" book don't you have to do that for? Kinsella knows how to weave a tale, and REMEMBER ME is no different (in quality) from her SHOPAHOLIC series. Same great stories, same great endings. The plot is far-fetched but nevertheless adorable, and the main character is pretty much like those in her other books, but aside from that this one is a tad different. We open with a young woman (Lexi) who has a dreary job and life and one day gets bonked on the head, only to wake up three years later married to a gorgeous guy and a life that anyone would kill for. So, here's the question; the part of the book that's the "hook": how did all this happen, and WHAT happened in the last three years to bring this about? Well, for that, you'll have to read the book--no spoilers here. This is an enjoyable read, along the lines of SHOPAHOLIC AND SISTER (funny and thought provoking), ME TALK PRETTY ONE DAY (outright hilarious) or BARRING SOME UNFORESEEN ACCIDENT (totally off the wall and a page turner). If you liked these books, you'll love REMEMBER ME. Okay, this may not be THE best Kinsella book, but you won't be wasting your money if you buy it. And it's not just chic-lit--guys will enjoy this also. Oh, it also has a happy ending--something you simply can't go wrong with, eh?
Another great book February 9, 2008 S. hamilton 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you have loved all the shopaholic books you are going to love this one too. Its funny, entertaining and has a great ending. I loved it.
Sophie Kinsella, Remember Me .....Brilliant and so funny, February 11, 2008 Mrs. Helen Firth (Stockport) 10 out of 15 found this review helpful
I always look forwards to Sophies next book , and I wasn't disappointed. I read this book soon after receiving it. The heroine Lexi wakes up with retrograde amnesia , having lost three years of her life, following a car crash, and to say she is shocked by the changes in herself is putting it mildly. From the cruel jokes played on her by her little sister, to her incredulity at her new life, and the divorce of Brad and Jen, (well every cloud has a silver lining), I thought it was about the funniest book she had written. I loved this book, its a good read, and has a good range of new characters, and a great new heroine. True it may be a little hard to believe, but no more so than the shopaholic books, and less so than some chic lit, as Sophie always seems to make her heroines so likeable , and believable. My only complaint is that Sophie cannot write her books as fast as I can read them, so encore please!.
You'll definately remember this book February 12, 2008 maria (England) 9 out of 14 found this review helpful
I like many others it seems, bought and read the book in less than a day. I loved it, from start to finish and it gave me many things to snigger about, particularly 'the Mont Blanc' which i thought was the highlight of the book. The characters were brilliant and i only wish i hadn't read it so quickly as i was sad when it ended.
Perfect March 10, 2008 A. Wilkinson (london, uk) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was the first book I had read of this author and I thought the whole of it was perfect. I'm a fussy reader so I quickly judge if I will like a book or not within a chapter and the second I read this I knew I'd love it. She makes reading easy and each time I quickly got lost into the book like I was Lexy herself or I was watching a film. I'd recommend this book to all, expecially those that like romance and a happy ending. And also, what a clever plot and story. Very original and freshly written.
