4 out of 5 stars Light read   August 1, 2008

The jokes are a little tedious but Katie's character has overtones of the author - and most of us welcome her humour in the context of GMTV. Which leads us to wonder how many of the other characters have elements of real people - both Keera and Mike seem to have more than a few recognisable traits. Penny Smith is multi-talented and has produced a very readable and enjoyable light read.

4 out of 5 stars a great first novel: a funny read!   August 22, 2008

This book bounces along, and is a great beach read. The characters are all a bit useless, comical and some intensely unlikeable (apart from the gorgeous Bob) - its a quirky insight into the world of tv.

I loved it.

3 out of 5 stars a harmless 1st attempt   August 17, 2008

so Penny has me in fits on GMTV so i was really looking forward to this and to be honest it's not that bad, lets face it Emily Bronte never had anything to worry about

Penny really should have kept the setting inside the breakfast tv station, instead of moving it out of there. And like others noted, the villian didn't get their comeuppance and the ending happened pretty damn quick.

not bad tho

still think ya brill Penny..but as my school report said, too many times..'must try harder'

3 out of 5 stars Not bad but not great either!   August 29, 2008

I would have expected a bit more from Penny Smith but trying to reserve judgement being her first book.

The story was good but seemed to come to an abrupt end, maybe leading onto a follow up second book?

I get very quiet periods at work and read this in 3 days. I will buy her next book if there is one just to give her a chance to prove me wrong.
