5 out of 5 stars Love the UK versions   January 21, 2008

I have been ordering the UK versions as each one has come out. I like having the original British language as it was written instead of the "Americanized" versions. Sometimes it loses something in the "translation".

I always thought that the books in America we good. Until I read these, the sheer literature vocabulary shames us Americans.
2 cheers for Britain!!

First of all I would just like to point out ho nice it is to have an adult version of an originally children's text: I can read it at the same time as my ten year old daughter and still keep my dignity!

A stunning set of escapist books, that might be slightly hard for readers younger than 9 to digest, but none-the-less brilliant. They combine everything a set of books should have: courage, bravery, kindness, reason, irritation, humour, and of course, and good bad guy (if that makes sense).

I would recommend it to anyone even if they hate reading. It's a great price for the number of time you can read them! (I have read the first one 5 times....need I say more?!)

5 out of 5 stars to put it simply - HARRY POTTER IS AWESOME!!!!   November 14, 2007

i first started reading Harry Potter in '97 at the age of 7yrs old and ever since then i've been hooked.....it's been in my life for 10yrs and i still think its absoloutly amazing, the quality of the writing is fantastic, and the characters unbeatable, if for some obscure reason you have not yet read a harry potter book, then this box set is an absolute must!!! i promise you, you will become hooked, its just that GOOD!!!
anyone that knocks Harry Potter, saying it is a children's book must not have read it as it is most deffinatly not just for kids, it appeals to all ages! i have grown up lovin potter and the magical world in which he lives and i truley believe these stories will become classics, and JK Rowling will be considered amongst the great names of litreature up there with the likes of Dickens & Tolkien!!!
HARRY POTTER IS A MUST READ, ITS BRILLIANT!!!!
