| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Like most "overnight sensations", Vonda Shepard had been slogging away for quite a spell--more than a decade's worth of touring, and three previous albums to be precise--before getting to grab the brass ring via the hit TV show Ally McBeal. This disc reprises most of the cover songs Shepard performed during the series' first year, from the ubiquitous "Hooked on a Feeling" to a lovely reading of the 1960s nugget "Walk Away Renee". But to Shepard's credit, the smattering of originals don't suffer too much in comparison: in fact, her "Searchin' My Soul" is one of the album's strongest moments. --David Sprague

I would definitely recommend to buy it. Its one of those CD's you can listen to over and over again and never get tired of it. For all those Ally Mcbeal fans this is the CD you have been waiting for!
Loud Lady just doesn't seem to get it February 1, 2001 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The music in Ally McBeal adds so much atmosphere to the programme, it can make you laugh and it can make you cry. When I play this CD, I can take Ally with me where ever I go! And I can't wait for the Second Series video either! Well done Vonda.
Great cd! I love it! May 22, 2001 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
When I listen to this cd, and close my eyes, I can see Ally and all the others dancing in their place! Vonda is sitting by the piano, playing, and I feel kind'a like Ally McBeal, feeling either very happy, or very sad(depending on the song)! And I think there are so many beautyful songs, that can make you either laugh or cry, and I love that! I think it's a great cd! Good job Vonda! Love, Julie S.
a great cd for anyone who is an Ally fan - or not November 15, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The only reason you would get this cd is if you have become familiar with Vonda Shepard who performs on the show. However, I would recommend it for a wide variety of audiences. Vonda Shepard has a great voice that has come into the limelight on account of the show. Although she has her own releases, this is a great album with some familiar songs performed in a slightly different way. If you do watch the show, there are a few songs that I was hoping for that were not put on this release - hopefully, they will be included on the second cd. This cd will appeal to a wide audience.
Apsolutely Brilliant! October 28, 2000 friend@ukgateway.net (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD is the best soundtrack that has been released. I listen to it all the time, in the car, on my walkman, in the evenings on my CD player and more!! Ever since I saw the Ally McBeal episode "Boy Next Door" where Billy dies I have become suddenly hooked. Included in that episode are the songs "Neighbourhood" and "You belong to me" both great songs (My personal favourtite "Neighbourhood") I have to say that this is a MUST for all you Ally McBeal fans!!
