Essential for Bowie fans! May 27, 2008 i wrote this (Bucks) 20 out of 25 found this review helpful
This isn't the first time that this classic bootleg of a radio broadcast has been released on CD. But new Bowie fans should stick this in their basket straight away as it's a great set list and much better then the 'Ziggy Stardust motion picture sound track', even with that album's recent remastering. The high light of the show is the acoustic section which features brilliant versions of Andy Warhol and Space Oddity. If all you've got is a Bowie 'greatest hits' or maybe the Ziggy studio album, this makes a great companion piece and good introduction to some of this other early 70's work. It's worth the cash for Mick Ronsons guitar solos on 'width of a circle' alone!

This is Bowie and the Spiders at their absolute peak of creativity. Various inferior bootlegs have been circulating for 30+ years and I'm surprised it took so long for EMI, or any other major label come to that, to release this pure gem of rock'n'roll history. This isn't so much a music recording as an historical document of a time when pop music came of age and entered a new dimension - territory that many would later seek to explore and indeed exploit but a territory that Bowie, Ronson et al had already discovered and moved on from. Make no mistake. This is a work of major significance that should not be passed over. ESSENTIAL.

Suprise I only have one Bowie album ( its true) Hunky Dory and to be honest I cant even say when the last time was that I played it, yea I have records and CD`s. so an old friend lent this to me to see if he could fire up my interest ,We have known each other for at least 30 years and use to have a good idea of what each other liked and listened to. I always thought that Bowie was a pop star who`s singles sold well and maybe a lot of his fans were teens ( and he acted ). secondly I knew his guitarist Mick Ronson had a solo album out `Slaughter on 10th avenue` Which I have never heard but know it is good,so me not to bothered with the David Bowie thing was seriously suprised and delighted by this 72 Live recording. I have found the Bowie band I always wished would exsist they do, (or did ) this is a real rock band playing their hearts out, cracking America..I will now have to liasie with friend and see what else could I be tempted with ( thanks Shaun) I now owe you one.!!
