Fantastic! May 26, 2008 A. Conn (Brighton) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
If you only buy one Genesis Live DVD, you will not get much better then this. The boys are looking a little older, but they prove yet again that they are one of the best live bands ever. I think the overall the set list was spot on, good blend of old and new songs. Phil's voice is still very strong, and no one can doubt the professionalism of this band, and the respect they have for their audience. Sound and picture quality of this DVD is also superb.

"I cannot contain my emotion," as someone once said. Hmm...I wonder who that could have been? Anyway, I've been a Genesis fan since about 1975 and I've always preferred the 70's songs to the later material. But... I think this DVD is fabulous! Firstly, there's plenty of nostalgia for us old fans, and secondly the newer songs that are on the DVD are mainly good rocky ones which older fans are more likely to enjoy, rather than the shorter pop songs. No Genesis concert is going to please everybody, but this DVD will certainly please a lot of us. If you think Genesis didn't do anything decent in the 80's, try watching the `Domino' performance on this DVD; if that doesn't get you excited you must have a heart of stone. Visually the concert is breathtaking; even the audience is spectacular! The 'Los Endos' light show is like a scene from `Close Encounters' (only better!). There are complete versions of `In the Cage', `Ripples', `Afterglow', `Carpet Crawl' and `I Know What I Like' (similar to the `Seconds Out' version), as well as many excerpts from other historic pieces. There's also some old concert footage and a photograph montage during the show, which I thought was a nice touch. Great music, great light shows, great atmosphere. What more do you want? Well, if you do want more, the extras on the DVD are interesting and fun to watch, and there's also a booklet of concert photographs. Happy now? So turn off the lights, turn up the volume, wave your lighters around, light a few joss sticks and press the play button. Enjoy the show, everyone.
Still Got the WOW Factor May 26, 2008 I. White (England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I missed the live concerts due to illness. Do I regret it now after seeing this. The sound the pictures are great. the music even more so. I'm sure many fans would like different tracks but the balance is right on. After 30 years and 15 since they last played together Tony Mike and Phil still have it, in spades! I can't see some of todays bands still Turning it on Again in 30 yrs? Buy it now! before you do anything else.
Manchester was better May 29, 2008 Nibs (Liverpool England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Cannot stop playing this DVD! Sound on "me old woofer" absolutely fantstic. Multitute of Manchester tracks on the CD tell you how special 07.07.07 really was( I was there)! Looking at this though, wish I had jumped easyjet to Roma. Magical - tear in my eye thinking we will not see them again. Any negative reviews of this DVD are not real fans - go watch what you want and leave - Tony, Mike, Phil, Chester, Darryl and the rest of of us to wallow in special memories. Seen them loads but this was best!! PS> Note to idiot critic complaining about contemporaray Genesis tracks - here is the rub - don't listen to them - 1/2 million rael fans in Rome cannot be wrong (spot deliberate spelling mistake). Fool!!! His Nibs
Fascinating doco plus a superb concert May 26, 2008 Mr. C. Powell (Adelaide,South Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This dvd has just been released in Australia & I spent a good part of yesterday watching every minute. The sound & picture quality is excellent & the concert footage rather stunning- wait until you see the huge screen!! However, the best part for me was the "fly on the wall" doco. which gives the viewer a tremendously close look at what went on behind the scenes to make this tour happen. Congratulations to everybody concerned -this is a fine record of a big event for many Genesis fans.
