Worth every penny!! February 5, 2008 xtana (Chicago, IL) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
As a college student it's hard for me to find time to work out - I tried to start a running regime over my winter break but I really hate running. I managed to lose about 18 lbs, and was very pleased but needed something to keep me going. I absolutely hate the gym at my school because it's incredibly inconvenient to work out there (it's very crowded) - I can do this workout in my room in about a 6ftx4ft area. I saw this DVD and spent 50 US dollars (I live in the States) on it simply because I LOVE EastEnders - Natalie has always been a favorite and I was inspired by all the weight she lost. I am SO happy I got this DVD, it was worth every penny. I do the DVD in the morning when I wake up, 5 days a week, and on the weekends I try to fit in just the Warm Up and Crunch sections. I don't have much experience with these kinds of work outs, and I have no background doing aerobics and whatnot. The routines are a bit complicated at first - the first time I did it I had to go back on some bits to clarify them. Now I can do the moves no problem, but the routine still proves to be a challenge. I sweat a lot during the "Sweat" and "Punch" sections, and it's hard to continue with the "Crunch" section after so much activity (I find I have to motivate myself a lot during this part, but it's easier on the weekends when I'm doing just this bit). I go through a lot of water while I'm doing the DVD as well. Overall, the routines are fun and challenging and most importantly you really *feel* it (going up four flights of stairs to class after doing the DVD is always fun...!). The first week I did this I felt sore all over - but in a good way! If you're motivated and focus on the moves it gets a bit easier, but you still feel it! I feel like Natalie provides more motivation and she has some funny comments as well! I love this DVD!!
AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS!!! January 2, 2008 Jo (UK) 59 out of 64 found this review helpful
I'm very sceptical of workout dvds, but I can honestly say that this one was a pleasant surprise. I thought I'd give it a try as it seemed much more realistic and more aerobic than other celebrity workout dvds, and I wasn't disappointed. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, just toning up really, and this is great for that. It's pretty full on and very hard work; I also wouldn't recommend it for anyone with bad joint problems or a massive amount of weight to lose; but I thought it was fantastic. It's encouraging to see how well Natalie has done with it (as well as with a healthy diet), and I for one can see myself sticking with this! A must buy if you're serious about toning up!
Fantastic! January 17, 2008 J. tweedly 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is my second workout DVD I've bought. The first was a Nell Mcandrew one which half killed me and wasnt too much fun. This one is fantastic, you can definitly feel the workout the next day and its extremely easy to follow. I hate exercise in any shape or form but this DVD is a must for anyone. Its fun, easy and best of all it works. I'd say do it about 4 times a week. Ive had for 2weeks and I already look abit more toned!
Lots of fun and a great workout January 30, 2008 Lucy Mortlock (Reading) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
After getting incredibly bored of my Rosemary Connely DVDs I decided to get something new. Not being a big celebrity fan, I've always shied away from this kind of thing, however: What a great laugh!! It doesn't matter if you can't get the steps the first or even second time round, you can laugh at yourself because the instructor working along with natalie is so easy going. The warm up section did just what you'd expect, got me warmed up and loosened up without tiring me out for the main workout. The "sweat" section was really great, and a whole lot of fun. Once you'd learned the steps it was very easy to carry on without worrying too much about getting it wrong. They do go through the same thing several times so you have plenty of time to get it right. As the name suggests, I was most definitely sweating by the end of this. The "punch" section was awesome! I've never done any kind of boxercise before, but found this to be a right laugh. Lots of punching, and then lots of working on the legs by kicking. I found the kicking the most challenging, but I think doing it a few more times I will get the hang of it! The last toning section I have not finished yet as I was completely worn out (but this is the only exercise I've done in months) but I was finding it quite difficult as they went straight into basically doing pushups straight away. I was reassured by Natalie saying "don't worry if you can't do 8 of these, I couldn't at first". One of the main things I like about this DVD is it is very realistic. The workouts aren't hours long, and you don't feel bad about not being able to do things as you see how Natalie was struggling before and admittedly still not the most graceful person in the world (but then none of us are!) A workout for real women :D If you want a bit of a benchmark I'm size 16 and never do any exercise (because I hate it) but even I found this manageable and fun.
