'There is only One Tree Hill' March 1, 2006 Ms Cristina D'Angelo 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
When I first sat down to watch One Tree Hill season 1 the very first episode, I was fustrated by Peyton's annoying teenage mood swings and the constant snide remarks she'd make when others were being nice to her. As the weeks passed the characters grew stonger and progressed out of a normal american teenage drama into a show that was worth giving up a night out for. Season 2 see's Tree Hill's kids grow into adults into finding themselves, Hayley falls into the classic middle of the road as Britney once finally sung 'not a girl not yet a woman; as she seeks becoming a star and living her dream with music but also walking away from Nathan Scott the once bad spoliked brat she tamed into a loveable man. Nathan really comes into his own as he journeys down the road of heartbreak, there is an amazing preformance in which he finally cracks in 'I'm wide awake it's morning' this covers every raw emotion, and fun scenes on racing cars, fun music and female togetherness as Deb, Brooke, Karen and Peyton support eachother in times of trouble. Dan proves to be the lovable villian we all know and love, Keith becomes less of a push over and finally starts to put himself first. Brooke still has feelings for Lucas but having been so hurt and betrayed she tries firmly to dismiss those heart flutters and try her hand at 'friends with bennifits' with the 'i love myself' Felix. Felix and his lesibian/straight sister Anna add a bit of spice to the season mid way but pleasing they served there temporary slots nicely. The darling nerd Mouth finally finds love which is FINALLY returned. Peyton gives outstanding preformances when Jake returns with baby Jenny, this actress is really going places. And Lucas Scott if you can get passed the unsuited shaved head Lucas Scott is still the star of the show. Aside from season 1 Lucas is not the centre of the show I think its more fouced on Nathan. The soundtrack for this is a additinal bonus that you will replay episodes just so you can hear the music again and again. Season 2 is addictive, attempted murders, teenage love, adult relationships, Brooke Davis is not just the little rich girl but she has learned to stand on her own two feet and realise life is not just about boys and shopping. Poor Deb rarely manages a smile in season 2 as Dan has eaten away at every part of her good side. As Karen put it, 'there is only One Tree Hill and it's your home' buy the DVD and you will understand exactly how true those words are.
Dare I Say It : Better Than 'The OC' February 13, 2006 Dutch and Red (England) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
The season begins with the inevitable return of Lukas and Keith which causes the newly reunited Peyton and Brooke to make peace with the man they once fought over. They find this an easier task than they thought, and their new friendship with Lukas is touching in the later episodes. The storylines are much more mature than Season One and so far there has not been one basketball match featured! The actors have pulled off very touching and emotional performances that all deserve recognition: especially Brooke who struggles to open her heart after it has been broken previously. This season is based primarily on the characters romantic affairs with many of the characters falling in love then having their heart broken. Peyton falls for the runaway Jake who returns with his daughter Jenny, and Karen has an extremely close student-teacher relationship whilst attending a business course. Taboo subjects like drugs and homosexuality are also dealt with giving the characters depth and emotion, and showing the audience that problems should be faced and dealt with. The main focus of the season is the strain put on the teenage newlyweds Hayley and Nathan. Hayley wishes to pursue a singing career and Nathan begins to wonder if he is a part of her future. The following events change their lives forever and both actors pull off poignant performances. Overall this is a much more mature and well scripted season that is thoroughly enjoyable to watch. The season is left on a whodunnit and now I can't wait for season three to find out who it is. Definitely one of the best teen dramas on the TV and, dare I say it, better than 'The OC'.
Buy this now!!! April 10, 2006 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
ok so season one got a bit tiresome with the dull storylines but season two is fantastic. this show has kept me hooked all the way through, with many twists and romantic complications. this is far better than "the O.C.". the storylines in one tree hill are actually believable. the season ends with a great cliffhanger and i cant wait for season three. if you like the oc then this is a must have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Throw your doubts away May 20, 2006 Kyle Hughes (Manchester, UK) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
The UK must seriously have something wrong with it to not be in love with this programme. How can it only be aired on Sunday mornings at like 6am? The price of this box set threw me off to start with because it is a lot of money but then I sat down and thought about it and heres my conclusion. Discs 1-5 have 4 episodes (41-43 minutes each) and loads of extras. Disc 6 has a 41 minute episode and a feature-length episode (82 minutes). And the complete run time for all DVD's is 1000 minutes! So anyway, my point is that if you buy one normal DVD for the normal price of about 15.00 you get less material than one of these discs and you get six of them for the price of like 3 normal DVD's. The show is just too outstanding for words and once you watch it you will understand what I mean. BUY ONE TREE HILL! I promise buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Seriously if you like teen dramas this is it !!! forget the Oc with its overtly basic and boring stroy lines this is the real deal , the story's are relatable or at least as much as they can be , in the respect that every cast member is like super fit and enough to make any guy or girl say Damn !This is the best teem drama out at the moment IMO , miles better than the rest , the storylines are seriously good and captivating, the females are HOt check out Taylor hayleys sister its a pity she isnt in it more . I wont spoil the season for people who have not seen it but i would say this set is worth buying even if u want to put it back on ebay at a later date
