Good for the beginner November 13, 2007 Chester Sealy (Yorkshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is filled with humour and good advice. If you're a golf pro, no, you won't be buying this, and why would you? If you're a beginner, it's a perfect place to start as it's not overly complicated and filled with details that are going to bog you down. All the "dummies" books are great, especially if you want to know just enough to being a sport or hobby or be able to converse at a cocktail party about something you aren't really familiar with.

Excellent for the fundamentals June 2, 2006 Alexander Mossin (Oslo, Norway) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I keep watching this dvd over and over again, for one reason - it excellently explains and illustrates the fundamental aspects of golf. Gary McCord's unpretentious and simplistic teaching shows you the most basic of the basics, and serves as a great review to make sure you don't forget the simple things. The DVD is great for beginners, but doesn't cover any aspect in detail. An example of this is that any shot type (driving, standard iron, chip, pitc) is explained from a specific distance, and nothing is said on what to change if you're closer or further away. That being said, this is a great introduction to the game of golf, and an important reminder to keep you on track once you start getting better. P.S: If you're ten years old, you might find McCord's jokes funny, but honestly, he is starting to get on my nerve...
