First Class July 4, 2008 Lorimer Watson (Ellon) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
I already had a backup/restore facility on my Acer laptop via so called Acer Empowering Technology. However it always took 3.5 hours to complete a full system backup which sometimes failed first time stretching the run time to an incredible 7 hours! Getting very fed up with this and having heard good reports on Acronis True Image I have just purchased the 11. version. Superb and so easy to set up and use. I did a full backup to an external hard drive in 24 mins and another to the Acronis Secure Zone partition I set up on my internal hard drive in 40 mins without a single hitch. Well done Acronis.
It simply worked July 2, 2008 C. R. Bottomley (Coventry England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I used to use Ghost on my XP systems with no problem but I saw the poor reviews here for the new Vista compatible version of Ghost so plumped for Acronis instead ... Joy of Joys! My pc had already stated to play up, so I was desparate to get a backup to simplify the disc change. I made a backup last night and fitted the new disc today. Pushed the Acronis CD into the DVD drive and identified the disc with my backup. About 3/4 hour later PC fully restored. Acronis True IMage 11 quite simply it does the job.

I've used Acronis True image 11 for cloning my Laptop hard drive after 2 attempts with Norton Ghost 10 none worked so used Acronis worked first time. I've also used it to clone USB dongle's with no problems at all.. So easy to use with all the right options. Running Windows XP pro
My Safety Net! February 13, 2008 G. Wright (Dagenham, Essex United Kingdom) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
I'm truly amazed at all the poor reviews and problems! I've used several versions of True Image over the years, though admittedly only on XP, after migrating from a problem-ridden Norton Ghost setup. I currently run True Image Workstation, performing monthly backup images onto a spare hard-drive (rather pointless putting it on the main drive and there's added safety in case of total drive failures). Reckless and daring behaviour has necessitated recovering my active partion on several occassions. I've never had the slightest glitch with any of the versions I've used so maybe this is a current problem related to adapting it to run on Vista. A problem there certainly appears to be - I can't believe this number of people are all 'mis-understanding' it in some way (it's always been fairly intuitive). I sincerely hope Acronis sort it out because I regularly recommend it and continue to rate it as a first-class product.
