Amazon.co.uk Review
Even the youngest of babies have active minds as they lay in the cot, and the Starlight Dreamshow from Tomy is designed to occupy those little minds, then relax them and lull them to sleep.
Consisting of a small, plastic moulded star, measuring roughly 14cm (5.5 inches) from tip to tip, and 6cm (2.5 inches) in depth, the dreamshow includes a plastic strap to fix it to the cot. |
Move the switch from "off" to either the "5 min" or "10 min" setting, then choose between pictures only or pictures and music. On the latter setting, the dreamshow will project small, pastel images of teddies, stars, moons and clouds onto the ceiling, while playing through three soft and gentle lullabies. On the first setting, the pictures are silent. If your baby isn't asleep by the time the dreamshow automatically switches off, just press the on button again for a replay. The dreamshow can also be switched off early, during either or the timed programmes.
The strap can be fitted to the dreamshow to fix it to the cot side, or it can be used freestanding on a chest of drawers or bedside cabinet. The image of a teddy bear on a cloud on the front of the dreamshow finishes off the effect and makes this a lovely addition to any nursery. --Lucie Naylor
Suitable from birth, the Starlight Dreamshow, requires 4 x AA batteries (not included) |

My boy loves it! February 4, 2007 Mr. Michael Connolly 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
A great little product - our 1 year old loves it and when he's all ready for bed and I say 'time for the teddy show' he gets quite excited! He's usually asleep by the time it switches itself off (you can set it for 5 or 10 minutes)
Fantastic Product!!! August 31, 2006 Ms. S. A. V. Dowell (Hertfordshire, England) 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
My daughter was brought the starlight dreamshow as a present when was born and I quickly realised it was an essential tem to have! She will not settle until it was put on, and it has become a important part of her bedtime routine, as she has become older she started pointing to it incase I forgot to put it on. She is now two, she still loves it and it is still working its magic, she even has a favourite tune. It travels everywhere with her (hospital, holidays and grandparents etc) and really helps her settle in places she is not familiar with. I have since spoken to other parents who also love this product, and my daughter's best friend also recieved one at birth and at 2 1/2 she still uses her one to settle at night. I would definately recommend this to any new parent!!
Starlight Dreamshow essential kit for bedtime routine. November 5, 2007 M. A. Delmaine 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this for our little girl before she was born, based on the reviews others had made. I took all the 5 star reviews with a pinch of salt, but vowed to return and write a review if it worked for us. Firstly apologies for doubting all you 5 star reviewers, the Starlight Dreamshow was an integral part of getting our daughter into a bedtime routine at four weeks. The Dreamshow is the first thing we pack when visiting the outlaws. Secondly, I am about to order another one in case ours breaks. Pounds well spent for an evening that allows you and the missus to recharge your batteries.
A much needed night-light November 17, 2007 S. Wallace (United Kingdom) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have acquired my little G/daughter at age 11 months; she was fretful to sleep in strange surroundings. This little night-light come musical/soother, is a god send. She now smiles at bed-time and happily lays down drifting off to sleep in a contented haze of colour and music. Well worth the money I am buying another just in case this one brakes down. I have to also admitting I like the ambience it creates in her room and have indeed lain with her and watched....Just a kid at heart lol. Sharon Wallace author A house full of whispers
Sleepy routine November 5, 2007 Anne and Dan (Colchester, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
My mother-in-law bought my twin daughters one of these when they were born. She was quite apologetic at the time as it didn't seem flash or expensive enough for her prized granddaughters. All I can say is that once the teddies are switched on both girls know that crying is futile and that they may as well relax, enjoy the show and finally drift off to sleep. It's possible it may not work for your little one (there's no guarantees with kids) but it's one of the things that we make sure is packed before we go away - even 2 years later. In fact I'm just ordering one for my heavily pregnant friend.
