I have to disagree with the previous review as I bought this for my niece and she thinks its great!! The instructions are really clear and quite simple. Great product!!!

password journal 5 is the best April 16, 2008 Anne Marie Laws (guernsey, channel islands) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
password journal 5 is so cool. It's so fun and it is really girly you will love it. There is so much stuff you can do in it and it does what it tells you to do and it recognises my voice. The only thing that bothers me is the price: no i would not give it 10/10 for the price but it still is so cool. You will love it and it will keep you busy all day.
We haven't had any problems with this November 19, 2008 Allan Rich (UK) My six year old daughter loves this. The voice recognition works really well for us. It normally opens first time for her. Her friends have a great time trying to get it to open for them - almost always unsuccessfully. I think the secret is to record the password in the same environment that it will be repeated back e.g. in a quiet bedroom.
Voice recognition is fine November 13, 2007 .Ray (UK) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
Just bought this for my 6 year old, and found the voice recognition to be working fine. It normally recognises the password on either the 1st or 2nd attempt. You have to remember this is just a toy so you have it help it to recognise you. I even managed to get in by upping the tone of my man voice and saying the password like how my daughter said it. Just remember the toy doesn't actually understand what you're saying for password, so you'll have to repeat the word in the same way as it was recorded - 'ellooo isn't the same as Hello You actually change passwords, time, and date using voice commands, and here, the toy do understand what you're saying to an extent. So, to change the time, you would say "change time", then follow the voice instructions to set the time! Now if only my mobile phone can do that. The less impressive thing about this toy is the build quality. Within the first hour, one of the top flap came off its hinge twice, so be gentle with it. I give this 4 stars because I actually find the voice recognition quite impressive for a plastic toy, for its novelty factor if you like. It's probably less secure as a journal than a paper book in a locked drawer, because it can easily be reset by pressing a button inside the battery compartment.
