Fantastic Controller but wait for Dualshock 3! January 31, 2008 NAR (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The SIXAXIS controller is fantastic very light, does not feel uncomfortable and its brilliantly designed. BUT if you can wait for the Dualshock 3 then do! as you will have rumble again! :) it is due out spring this year in Europe. The Dualshock 3 will weigh a bit heavier but not much and it will have everything the SIXAXIS has but with rumble as well! So overall if your desperate for another controller buy this one, but if you can wait, buy the Dualshock 3!
Six-axis February 15, 2007 Chaza ''the ruler'' (Essex,Uk) 31 out of 41 found this review helpful
This is the great new controller for the sony ps3. As its name suggests it has six-axis which is capable of capturing the controllers movement in the gamers hands. Though the loss of rumble is a downpoint of the control it makes up for the loss with six-axis a device in the controller which tracks your every movement and realays it to the ps3 and allows you to use the control in a way to play the game differently. eg. in resistance you can shake the control to get the chimera out of your face after they jump on you. There are six-axis. 1)Roll which is the tilt of the controller from left to right. 2) pitch determines whether the front or back of the controller is facing up or down 3) Yaw means how much you have rotated the controller left to right. 4)x-axis forwards and back. 5) y-axis left and right. 6)z-axis up and down. these are the six-axis the controller will compute to let you feel more in the game. Another new feature of the six-axis is the ps button which allows you to turn on the ps3 from sleep mode and allows you to connect the controller to the ps3 wirelessly. it will also let you control the menu whilst playing a game. eg. similar to xbox-360 menu which provides options such as return to the main menu. A great thing about the ps3 is it allows up to seven controllers to be able to connect to the ps3. If you are player 1 to 4 for example a light will appear on the top of your controller to tell you what number you are. Whereas 5-7 you have to add up eg. for player 5 the light under number 1 will light up and the light under 4 to show you are player 5. Have great fun with this new, fantastic controller i know i did

Brilliant! February 13, 2008 L. Stimpson (Bristol -UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am so happy that Sony didn't change the controller for the ps3. I got really worried when the concepts for the ps3 were coming out as the controllers were re-designed. When they finally released the console the controllers were the same we know and love! They obviously have the added feature of wireless which means my dog will no longer interrupt my game by pulling out the lead! Fantastic! Also looking forward to the return of rumble but the non-rumble are fine for now. Overall: I always love change and innovation, but this time I'm so glad Sony went for the if it ain't broke don't try and fix it adage!
Greatest Controller of All Time April 13, 2007 C. Palfrey 11 out of 16 found this review helpful
This controller combines classic design, revolutionary controlling, incredibly light and very long lasting and quick charging battery. The SIXAXIS beats the analogue sticks for control by far, racing games have never been as enjoyable and accurate. The battery charges within an hour and a half and lasts 30+ hours. I personally haven't noticed the loss of Dual shock because my PS2 controller's Dual Shock has been broken for years. Great controller I prefer it to the 360's and Wii's Controllers
