If you hate the sound of the outside world, you'll love these.. June 10, 2008 Mr. T. M. A. Harding (Bolton, UK) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've had these headphones literally half an hour and already I'm praising them. During purchase, I was initially worried about 2 factors: 1) I have quite an old tele with 1 scart socket.. will this be a problem? 2) It'll be impossible to hear both voice and game ambience clearly. ..No issues at all! The scart splitter you get with the package fits easily into your existing scart coming from your 360. There's plenty of wire to go around (both headphone and usb length is massive), which you'd think would be an issue, but thanks to a nice handy velcro strip, you can keep it all together. Oh yeah.. the sound quality, couldn't forget that. Jumping onto GTAIV with these on your head is such a shock. I was stood underneath the railtracks with a chopper whirring nearby and could hear everything from clunk to whirr. I was amazed at how easy it was to regulate game and voice sound to your exact specifications: Mate: *mumble, mumble* Me: "Hold on mate, I didn't hear that. Let me just turn you up" Mate: "I said, your voice sounds clear as anything!" Me: "Ah right, thanks" Ok, a bit of pimping going on there, but it really is that easy. My only quip (and this is based on my mates mic) is that if your friend has an awful mic, the earphones highlight that and you cant really understand him at all. It's like getting a 10px by 10px photo and enlarging it to wallpaper size. Definitely worth spending your hard earned cash on. Just don't turn it up too loud.. my ears are still ringing!!!!
Excellent Solution for Many Problems May 31, 2008 Jamie Wood (England, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well i brought my X1s for the main reason that my brother is often playing on another xbox in the same room, and the mixes of two games audio wasnt good at all. They are very simple to setup with a connection going into L&R audio and then a power cable going into the USB of the 360. As for the microphone that plugs into the bottom of the controller and the other end of the wire goes into a mixer where game and voice audio are combined. You can then adjust the levels of Game-Voice volumes. The only problem with this is that i often nudge the game volume wheel up accidentaly and it blasts my ears out in a state of surprise, they need to add a sound volume lock or something. The only problem is of course the wires, but even after ive been using my Wireless headset before this, it really isnt that much hassle. Overall an excellent product, but now some other companies are creating Game and Voice headsets such as SteelSeries.
Wow what a headset June 10, 2008 Mr. K. G. Outterside (Lowestoft, England) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Right i have only used this headset on call of duty 4 but it is "Brilliant" you can hear exactly where the enemy is. You can also turn the game volume up and down seperate from the game chat. This product is very easy to setup only took me 5 minutes. If you are a keen gamer or wishing to go pro like i used to be i really recomend this headset especially to the "X3" version because they eat batteries like anything. I hope that you found this review helpfull and happy gaming..
Ear Force X1 Headset (Xbob 360? May 20, 2008 Ab 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been looking to buy a pair of headphones but I wanted to go surround sound so I thought why not by a pair of surround sound headphones, then I found these, these are amazing, comfortable, fantastic sound, they look like they will last a very long time , no batteries, when I put the headphones on, it was all quite then I turned my console on and bang the sound was so clear and loud. The only downside is, is the cables, but they give u a velcro strap attached to it so you can tie them up like I did, another downside cutting through the plastic to try and get the headphones out but you get there in the end. Highly recommended for night and day gamers. 5/5
excellent but... July 20, 2008 S. Tantum (uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all these headphones have great sound quality, good microphone and both work together well. They are also the most comfortable gaming headphones I've worn. However, I had some background humming problems, particularly when the amplifier rested against a surface, which happens frequently if you sit down. This problem was solved by taping some of the wire to the headphone lifting the amplifier off any sufaces. The purchase of a ground loop isolator also improved the sound.
