Does What It Says On The Tin December 1, 2007 Mr. K. J. Pillinger (UK) 26 out of 30 found this review helpful
For those reviewers who are bemoaning the fact that this game has taken away the aspect of Resident Evil games that you like (ie the freedom to roam at your will) I suggest you read the product description prior to investing in a game. For those who are considering purchasing this product I would say, do it. I am a huge fan of the House of the Dead arcade games and to me this is a classier version of them. The atmosphere and story so far are fantastic and it has a real pick up and play feel to it. I imagine it will have a real appeal to the fans of the Resident Evil series also, as it gives you a feeling of being in the game rather than controlling the game. For people like me who dont have the time or patience to play the lengthy and at time frustrating RPGs I cant suggest this game highly enough. Im sure the game isnt for everybody, but that is fine its what makes being a gamer special is it not.
how can you review this?? August 11, 2007 tqfan (scotland) 98 out of 146 found this review helpful
this game isn't even out yet, how the hell can you review it?? you're giving your opinions of the game based on what you've read or seen, you're not giving your opinions based on playing the actual game!! you also incorporate other non-related games into your reviews. you can't assume that people reading your review will have played time crisis, or metal gear 3, or whatever other game you relate this one to, so they won't have a clue what CQC, or rails (?) is... no wonder so many people don't find the reviews helpful!! at least wait til the game is out and you've played it, before you go judging it...
Great fun playing cooperative! December 4, 2007 Keiner Niemand Nichts (KA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
First of all: To everyone from germany thinking about getting the UK-Version of RE UC: the dvd includes german language! (Yes, i'm from germany. RE UC won't be released over here, thanks to our rating board...) Now for the game: 1. Controls: It's a Railshooter. The game takes control of the movements of your ingame alter ego. The only thing you do is to point at the screen and shoot at zombies! (you can look around a bit by using the stick of the nunchuk). 2. Graphics: Not the best ones on wii, but quite good. About the same lvl as RE4 Wii Edition. 3. Story: Resident Evil Zero, 1 and 3 and some extra information due to bonus missions. 4. Weapons: Knife and pistol with infinite ammo. Extra weapons: submachine gun, shotgun, grenades and many more. 5. Resident Evil Feeling: Yes, definitly! 6. How long does it last? Several hours just playing it 'til the end. Much longer, if you want to find all items and story items. It can get a bit monotonous sometimes, but i never had a problem with that. 7. Singleplayer or cooperative? Coop is much more fun and probably the only way to get through on hard. If you play it alone and you're new to this kind of game, you should maybe consider to choose easy, because it can get quite stressful sometimes. Is it worth it? If you like railshooters and resident evil: of course! If you want the typical resident evil gameplay, where you walk around on your own: Better try it by renting, before spending money on something you don't like. To everyone, who bought this by mistake (believing it would be a typical RE game): Don't be angry! At least you did something for the good cause. Someone from capcom stated, that they would think about a Resident Evil 5 Wii Edition, if RE UC becomes a success ^^
IT IS AN ON RAILS GAME!!! GET IT. April 6, 2008 Russell Davies 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
What is wrong with people, rating a game based on them thinking it is the same as RE 4. RE 4 is the best game I have played, but I am not a die hard Resident Evil 4 fan. I bought Chronicles knowing full well that it would be an on rails game. It is absolutely fantastic, has gave two of us twenty hours of play so far, plus some more to unlock. And everyone else who has been round to play loves it. For the quality, gameplay and value it can't be faulted. One million copies sold so far and counting, so it can't be bad...
