Product Description
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock boss battles give fans a chance to compete against legendary guitarists such as Slash and Tom Morello. Players are required to deplete the boss' Rock Meter before the boss goes into their Death Drain solo, which always means 'lights-out.' After defeating a boss, players unlock that guitarist as a playable character and continue to the encore for the set list, which is a master recording of one of their respective bands' most well-known tracks. for instance, When Morello is defeated, the next performance is "Bulls on Parade," during which Morello performs on stage alongside the player. Guitar Hero 3 Features: Slash?s Original Boss Battle Recording Welcome to The Jungle (by Guns N? Roses) One (by Metallica) Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones) Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins) Sabotage (by Beastie Boys) The Metal (by Tenacious D) My Name is Jonas (by Weezer) Knights of Cydonia (by Muse) Even Flow (by Pearl Jam) Lay Down (by Priestess) Cult of Personality (by Living Colour) Miss Murder (by AFI) Through Fire and Flames (by Dragonforce) Number of the Beast (by Iron Maiden) 3's and 7's (by Queens of the Stone Age) Suck My Kiss (by Red Hot Chili Peppers) Raining Blood (by Slayer) Paranoid (as made famous by Black Sabbath) Cities on Flame (as made famous by Blue Oyster Cult) Mississippi Queen (as made famous by Mountain) La Grange (as made famous by ZZ Top) Rock and Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss) School?s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper) Rock You Like a Hurricane (as made famous by Scorpions) Slow Ride (as made famous by Foghat) Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   December 14, 2007

A warning for people buying the game, the sound is only in mono on this game at the moment, but unless you're desperate to use surround sound, don't let that stop you buying this game. In about a months time you'll be able to have a replacement disc sent to you free of charge anyway, with re-mastered sound. So since the problem will be sorted I've given this game 5 stars because it has kept the brilliant guitar hero game play and added online functionality, and it's so much fun. I'm not too fussed about the new boss battles, I just found them a little annoying to be honest, but having played the first and second game already I've found this game to be even more challenging. I think this is great, obviously it means that less people will be able to complete the game, but it's still easy enough to get into and unlock all the songs. There really isn't any other game experience like this at the moment, I couldn't recommend this game more.

Got this for Christmas and have not been off it since! There is a near perfect learning curve and the game is so much for groups and on your own over the net. The fact that you have to put the WII remote into the controller is a great addition. Online mutliplayer is also really good, and competitive!

5 out of 5 stars Great Game   February 3, 2008

I Own The First Two Guitar Heros And This One Tops Them Both, The Soundtrack Is Much Better Than The Others With More Original Songs And Less Covers.
The Battles Are Fun, Using Powerups To Destroy The Opponent.

Online For This Game Is A Must, You Can Have A Battle, A Face Off Or A Co-Op Game Against People From Around The World.

5 out of 5 stars Party on Dudes!   November 28, 2007

Having never played a Guitar Hero game before, I was initially a bit worried that this game would be too hard (going by some of the YouTube videos of people playing songs on Expert).

It wasn't until I started playing, first by going through the tutorials and then Career Mode on Easy, that I realised that it is actually fairly easy to pick up and play. Easy mode only requires you to play using 3 out of the 5 fret buttons.

Things do get gradually harder as you progress through the game but in no time at all you'll be rocking out and hitting most of the notes. Once you've mastered Easy, you can move on to Medium (4 out of 5 fret buttons) where things start to get a little tricky and eventually on to Hard (all 5 fret buttons) and Expert.

The guitar controller is simply a thing of beauty and really puts you in a rocking frame of mind. The Wii-mote fits snugly into the guitar and adds rumbles and missed note squeaks for added authenticity. Once you start hitting most of your notes, you'll be able to activate Star Power by pulling a true Rock Star guitar pose. Very satisfying!

With 70 songs to play from a whole host of eras (most of them unlockable in Easy mode) and excellent multiplayer/online options, this game will keep you entertained for a very long time to come as you strive to become a Legend of Rock.

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Game   December 17, 2007

It's a brilliant game, online play is fun, and the single player is brilliant too. A lot of multiplayer fun to be had, if you want to buy a second guitar, but even simply with the Wii-mote, is brilliant. The variety of songs, and the ranging difficulty is immense, and the videos included are a nice bonus. A must have for any rock music fan, or anyone willing to be challenged. Just beware of becoming too addicted.
