Guitar Hero Becomes Band Hero! November 15, 2008 F. W. Gedling (Woking, Surrey) 64 out of 64 found this review helpful
This arrived yesterday on launch day and the only downside was being woken up by the kids playing drums at 7am! If you liked GH then you will love this. Worthy of note is that you need a Wii controller per instrument - so if you have lead guitar, base guitar, drums and microphone, you need FOUR Wii controllers (even though the mike plugs in to USB at the back of the Wii).
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! November 15, 2008 caz (Herts, England) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a great game i have had so much fun banging away on the drums, for so many hrs. Every instrument is great the only con is the kick pedal for the drums feels cheap and like it could break at any time. Other than that the whole set up is great tons of songs hrs of fun V HAPPY ;-)
Watch Out Pete Townsend, Here I Come.......... November 16, 2008 L. Richards (Bunde, Germany) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I pre ordered and received the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle and free guitar on 14 Nov 08, ready to unleash some serious anger on the drum kit. Although, as previously mentioned in almost all the other reviews, each instrument requires a seperate controller. A minor point which took my wallet pleasantly by surprise! The drum kit and guitars take moments to set up,and once my kids had practised their Pete Townsend impressions we were ready to start. The game is fantastic, very addictive, easy to learn and play. I do have two little points i beleive are worth mentioning. Unless you have surround sound, it is quite difficut to hear the drums over the thud of the drum stick on the rubber pads. I beleive you can alter the volume of each instrument though. Finally, the game has 85 songs to have a go at, from the Sex Pistols to the eagles, but only a handfull that i knew, If you like heavy metal, you will love it. You can buy more songs online though. Overall, a cracking gift to myself, if i could get a go on it. 10/10. Enjoy.
Become a Rock God in the safety of your own home!! November 29, 2008 Another Weasley (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Where to start?? Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock, was a great game - a really great game! So for Neversoft the game was on to create a sequel that would do justice to the series - and boy have they delivered! With over 80 songs, from all genres (country - metal!) there is something for everyone. Its really easy to pick up and play, especially with the new beginner stage! Alongside the songs on the disc it is possible to create your own, or download more from GHtunes. You can also purchase more songs using wii points from the online store. As others have said, you do need wii remotes for all of the instruments, which is a pain, but it doesn't really take anything from the game itself. Aside from the age old Rock Band Vs Guitar Hero debate, which is better, who was first and the rest......who cares! Personally, I went for Guitar Hero World Tour as I loved GH3, and the controller for that would be compatible with this game and I prefer the drums - its more realistic with the raised cymbals, you really do feel like a drummer. Furthermore GHWT has downloadable songs, where as rock band doesn't. Each game will have its fans, and thats good, as competition will hopefully push the companies to produce even better games and features in the future! Overall, this game is so much fun - it really is!! You can play as a band, or each instrument individually. Difficulty can be changed half way through a song and you can even create your own wee rocker to look just like you! I expect hospitals should be on call this christmas to aid my fellow rockers with their potential injuries! I have already poked myself in the eye with the drums sticks, banged my knee off a table doing a crazy guitar solo and my vocal chords are shredded - but I dont care, I am a rockstar! Seriously, this game is fun, for all ages!
