Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: The second expansion pack for The Sims 2 makes the Sims' pleasure your leisure. It adds in a special new neighbourhood called Downtown, packed to the gills with restaurants, bowling alleys, shops, parks, karaoke bars and clubs. You can visit them alone, go in a group, or take that special Sim out for a dream date. The lowdown: Whether you're trying to organise a romantic date for two or a boisterous girls night out, your time spent in Downtown is constantly being appraised: commit one faux pas too many, and the timer will run out and you'll be left with a deflated Sim and an inflated drinks bills. Your Sim can now scope out a room to check for compatible partners, while other more random additions include a new "pleasure life" aspiration, cars, garages and, rather oddly, vampires. Most exciting moment: Engineering the perfect date and getting an extra use out of your new car. Ooh, and indeed, er. Since you ask: Not counting online title World of WarCraft, The Sims 2 is the best selling PC game in the world ever. The bottom line: Another generously stacked expansion pack for your little computer people. Harrison Dent

Nightlife vs. University October 18, 2005 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
For any major sim fan, nightlife is for you. It also adds a lot to expansion 1 university. From dating to vampires or to the basic but nice addons like night time neighbourhood and visible lots around your sim's house. This is for you. Now all of the bugs with university and nightlife have been corrected via a patch from the offical site (www.thesims2.ea.com) there has never been a better time to buy!
ANOTHER GREAT SIMS GAME March 25, 2006 R.P (Co Durham) 34 out of 36 found this review helpful
Nightlife offers a new downtown/city area that you can associate with your towns. There's only one, but it's loaded with new buildings, restaurants, stores, and entertainment centers. 125 new objects are available, most focusing on social interaction or community lot decorating. Sims can now build driveways and own their own cars, and they can form social groups or go out on dates. In addition, the inclusion of Vampires (see below) almost makes the pack. Graphically, there are some new perks. Although it doesn't directly impact gameplay, you can now see neighboring lots from your own house -- this makes the game more immersive, since it doesn't feel like your house is floating in space anymoreA new "Pleasure Aspiration" is now available as a Sim's life goal. Typically Sims with the Pleasure Aspiration live for the moment, their wants changing rapidly based on the situation, eager to do whatever fun thing is at hand. They're pretty easy to keep happy, but not very deep, which makes the new aspiration less interesting to play than, say, a family or popularity aspiration.
Nightlife is the best! October 19, 2005 Gabby (Iver, Bucks United Kingdom) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I bought University and didn't like it, so I wasn't holding out much hope for the 2nd expansion pack for the sims 2. But after a guy at school lent it to me, I have completely changed my mind! It is amazing! The cars are b-e-a-utiful! and the new objects are cool too! I would reccomend this as a must-buy for any sims lover. I would recomend the book too but it's not a necessity.

This game has it all and i cannot name any game out there more closer to life then the sims you can do everything in this like drive your children to school, get real neat cars,go clubing or just hang with a group of friends, have a meal with not just one like the sims hot date but with a whole group of friends (if you go with a group of friends for a meal make sure you got loads of money as it is very expensive) lol, anyway all i can say is if you want the real life then look no further then this little tresure ENJOY!!!!!!
Super Game!!! February 10, 2006 The Lappster 29 out of 35 found this review helpful
This Game is super. There are lots of new objects including a DJ Booth,a Dance Sphere, a bowling Alley, a karaoke machine and a photo booth. Your sims even get cars ranging from an old banger to a Sports car. Now there is even a new dating system which is great. There is even a downtown to go to. And also there is a new Pleasure life aspiration which is amazingly good.I think this game was well worth the money and am pleased i got it.
