Amazing Joystick for good price July 18, 2006 H. Ashton (uk) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I was on the hunt for a joystick that did rudder control and was generally better than my 5 one i had. first off this is quite a large joystick, and witht the option to move all the bits around like thte trigger tilt left/right, thumb buttons on back of stick up/down, making them alot more useful as you would not clunk them by accident. the handle is ambidextrous, you undo the hand rest flip it over and put it back on the other side, and it hight adjustable aswell allowing you to be more comfortable for longer durations. the throttle on the base is grat it had a "heavy push" feel to it, so you can adjust it in very small increments or a large chunk smoothly. the return to center spring under the stick works a treat once again making it smooth to use and fly, no more jerking the plane into position. ive had mine about 2 months now and its stood up to quite a fair bit of punishment dropped of the desk mulitple times, sat on, crushed into boxes when packed away. and it still looks brand new and feels it too. if you want a very good joystick at a good price get this, plus it has one blue led on the top of it that lights up and all the base buttons are iluminated allowing you to not have to play with the lights on at night. i use this stick mainly for playing Lockon: modern aircombat also in Battlefield 2/Xplane 8 Even toca3, but thats taking it a bit far. This joystick is Smooth and comfortable and as to that chap who have had problems, i've had None at all. as for breaking the trigger!! you must have put an awful lot of force on it as its very sturdy.
Best Joystick EVER March 30, 2004 Martin Giles 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
The Saitek Eborg is the best joystick I have ever used. It is so comfortable and easy to use. Many people shall look at it and think “too many buttons” but in today’s modern gaming there is a need to have that many buttons at your comfort as gaming is speeding up and it’s all about reflexes. The Eborg can be adjusted to any hand size and that for many people is a great advantage. The joystick can also be programmed and this is done through a GUI interface and easily done for people who are and are not computer literate. This is a must for Flight Sims and is great on game such as BF1942 & Desert Combat as it makes flying helicopters a lot easier. Buy this or be shot down!!
Joyous stick April 9, 2004 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic peice of kit. It's a little more pricey than some other sticks - but it's worth every penny. There are 5 thumb buttons and 6 base buttons (although you will only use 3 of the base buttons depending on whether you are a lefty or a righty). All of the buttons can be adjusted to physically suit your hand shape - as can the palm grip and the orientation (lefty or righty again). This is a great help and is easily done with the use of a couple of thumb screws. The stick also has a damped throttle lever on the base which is perfectly weighted and makes for easy manouverability in all of my flight sims. The stick itself is nicely weighted too, whether you prefer to sit it in your lap or leave it on the desk. At first the movement seems slow, but you shortly get used to it's sensitivity and it makes game playing a doddle. It has a twist grip rudder control for extra precision, which took a little getting used to - but i couldn't go back to a stick without it now. On the whole, this is a really nice stick to use and is very straight forward to set up and calibrate. The icing on the cake is the blue led on the top and the red led's in the base buttons - makes night flying look a little more atmospheric to boot! Thoroughly recommended.
great joystick February 15, 2006 Edmund Culpin (Castle Cary, Somerset United Kingdom) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
this joystick, which i got last christmas (2004) is great. it has never let me down. it goes well with flight simulators, racing games and even sports games. it has an adjustable hand rest for either hands which is great because i am left handed and i had trouble on my last joystick. there is a good pan-around hat-switch thingy and the 3D twist is really good for controlling helicopters on simulators. it also has a good adjustable throttle on the base.
