Product Description Safe, simple and effective method of cleaning between teeth and deep into gum pockets to remove debris and plaque. The Hydro Floss system is not simply based upon removing plaque and debris from under the gums using a high pressure stream of water. Hydro Floss is a magnetic oral irrigator, producing polarized water molecules which prevent plaque and calculus from attaching to the tooth surface. Its similar to putting a coating on the tooth surface both above and below the gum line. According to a study published on the Journal of Clinical Periodontology (May 1993; 20: 314-317) titled "The effect of Oral Irrigation with a Magnetic Treatment Device in Plaque and Calculus, the group using an oral irrigator with a magnetic device showed a 44% greater reduction in calculus volume and a 42% greater reduction in area over the group using an non-magnetic oral irrigator.

This is the perfect solution for anyone with gingivitis or gum disease. It is much easier to use than floss or the little brushes that you push between the teeth (TePe). You'll be amazed how effective the waterjet is at flushing out the debris that lodge in the spaces between your teeth. And you thought your teeth were clean after brushing!. Once you see how much rubbish gets left behind you will not want to be without it. I have had mine for 2 years now. My previous unit lasted 3-4 years. They are very reliable . Avoid WaterPik (another brand) units as they are not reliable and leak (see reviews). The rechargeable units are OK but again avoid WaterPik as they usually fail within 2-3 months (keep the receipt!). If you want a rechargeable unit bear in mind the reservoir is small and you may need to top up mid flight. The best of the rechargeables is the PANASONIC (not widely available in the UK but can be ordered through your dentist) around 45.
Back to the Kitty Jet waterfloss; You can use warm water in the reservoir if your teeth are sensitive and add Corsodyl mouthwash for added antiseptic benefit.
I wish all my patients had one of these and I use it myself daily. Get one.
