Don't blame six second abs! January 7, 2008 dalton m 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I can't believe the amount of negative reviews this product is getting. It would seem that most of you have received cheap fakes. Bands breaking and dvds not playing properly are two obvious signs. If you go to the six second abs site you'll see that they are in the middle of suing several companies for passing off inferior products as original six second abs. They even show pictures of the fake packaging. They look very convincing. These aren't some generic brand knock offs, these are being sold as original products but unfortunately are of far inferior quality. I've been using one for a while now and think its great. The only downside as was pointed out in another review is that the stonger red bands need to be ordered seperately. That aside I think its a good piece of kit and as long as you get an original you should be ok
Yes It Does Work For Sure February 26, 2008 C. BLACK (London) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Hi, I bought this item, just recently ignoring all the mixed reviews because I have back complaints which rule out conventional sit-ups or crunches. Using the machine on the near lowest resitance (with two yellow bands in), and following the DVD strictly (in the seated position), I struggled in the middle of level 2 and pooped at level 3. The burn is GREAT and I know that with comittment and a good diet this kit will do what it promises! main thing is, it really does get the abs burning with minimal movement. It looks great, feels like a toy and is fun to pick up and use too. I highly recommend this if you plan to really stick at it. Oh, and like the first reviewer said, this is not for weight loss, you will need cardio work and dieting for that! Thanks. CB From London

It semi-works January 20, 2007 M. Hutton 155 out of 162 found this review helpful
I recently bought one of these '6 second abs' machines in an attempt to tone up my abdomin. It does have its pros and cons. I found that doing the 6 second abs programme whilst lying on my back, as you would a normal sit-up works 10 times better than in a seated position. I have the resistance on 55lbs, which isn't actually that much in all honesty. This product only works if you are of a lean physique. There is no point buying this if you think it will burn your fat from your belly as it won't. You need some serious cardiovascular work outs for that. I'm 6'3" and around 12.5 stone, which is 82kg or so. My body fat is 21.7% which is perfect for my weight. I would recommend being in a similar position as myself for this product to give you an results. I am not a health freak and wanted something to tone my abs without doing endless sit-ups and not seeing any results. I thought I would give this a go and I'm relatively happy with it, not over the moon. I'm pleased that it actually works my abs, only really whilst lying down but it's not uncomfortable like a sit-up when you put pressure on your coccyx (tail bone). Honestly, I think 6 second abs has a lot of potential and I can feel my abs hurting already and I haven't had it long. With any form of fitness regime, you need to eat/drink healthily in relation to exercise. You won't notice any difference if you do 20 mins a day and then hit the pub for several hours a week. You need to curb unhealthy drinking and overly fatty foods. Pasta/Salad/Wholemeal Bread/Smoothies/Fruit are an excellent way to back in carbs and calories without over eating. In conclusion, a relatively good product but only if you commit to it. You won't see immediate results but give it a few weeks and you'll be laughing.
Better than situps January 24, 2008 B. Fenning (London) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is what you get when you buy the 6 second abs: * something that, when lying back, is very good at working out the abdominal areas * is lightweight, but liable to break if treated heavily (I haven't broken mine but can imagine some big fella picking it out of the box and breaking it in the first minute - keeping it unbroken just requires some care and doesn't interefere in the workout, just knowing how much pressure to put on it) * it won't make you like the people on the box! Not without diet and change of lifestyle. Not nice to hear, but that's the same with all these exercise equipment - if you want to give em a workout though, as I said before, it's far better than situps (doesn't work the back as much) The other positions they suggest I haven't found too easy or effective but the lie-down method really does work the abs. Overall, for the price at the moment it's worth a shot - but just be gentle and know that you won't become Arnie using it.
