Best Buy I Ever Made December 12, 2007 Martha Morris (UK) 43 out of 47 found this review helpful
Saw this advertising on the tv shopping channel and thought it looked great and to easy to be true. Tried and tested the cheaper versions around on the market like this but they really do not compare to this model at all. I bought this one after a while and after reading the instructions, decided to buy cheap paint so I wouldn't need to water it down as much since cheap paint is very runny anyway. Filled the runner up and hey presto, I could paint with no drips, no mess and had a very happy carpet that usually gets covered when I am painting. It did exactly as I wanted it to and expected it to. The edging tool is not the greatest but when that is just a bonus tool I wasn't bothered about it as the main roller itself worked wonders.
what a piece of kit February 28, 2008 susiebabe (skipton UK) 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
i bought this system cos im fed up with having to be up and down loading paint onto either a roller or paint pad. i wasnt sure it would work but i was desperate so had to give it a go. How pleased was i that i did. It makes painting almost a pleasure- just load up your paint into the roller and off you go for about 2 walls of a big room. It seems best if you water down the paint a bit but not a lot or you lose coverage. No more spray or drips- no need for dust sheets or protective gear. My only criticsm is that the extending handle they provide is quite flimsy and when the roller is fully loaded it is heavy. i managed to emulsion using 2 coats my large bedroom including the ceiling all in 1 day- amazing! Highly recommended.
Paint Runner. September 2, 2008 B.Wise (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, considering that Dulux have brought out an automatic paint feed roller the original Paint Runner is expensive for what it is. From my experience, using a good quality paint, I found that I had to use the roller on a sheet of newspaper for 3 minutes before the paint came through. I also, found that even though the roller did not drip it did produce tiny pinhead droplets of paint which would ruin draylon material. I would highly recommend covering carpets and furniture. The additional edging tool is useless and the postage, if not free, is rediculous. In my opinion, it is good but it still needs loads of cleaning when the job is done. Maybe my paint was too good for it?
paint runner not the easiest of tools! May 23, 2008 Ann Heffernan (uk) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
this item works very well on simple plastered walls but if like me you are trying to paint on blown vinyl or other textured surfaces it becomes very labour intensive as you need to use quite a bit of pressure and the roller is quite heavy when loaded. The edging tool also performs poorly on these surfaces i found a small roller much more practical for edging. I had no difficulty getting the paint to come throuh the roller as i used B&Qs cheap paint i did not need to water it down as it was quite thin already like the consistancy of cold tinned custard . I did however find that it covered evenly and i only needed one coat which was good, another plus was that it did not drip and i was able to leave furniture etc uncovered.
