more than I bargained for February 14, 2008 Tracy (UK) 44 out of 44 found this review helpful
Like the previous reviewer, I bought this primarily for the rice cooker. For cooking rice it's amazing. wash the rice add the water, press the button and forget about it. Perfect rice, even if you leave it there and forget about it. I also use mine for steaming veg most nights now. Hardly ever use the hob, which cuts down on hob cleaning. The rice cooker is so much easier to clean. I haven't yet used the porrige maker, or slow cooker. I already have a slow cooker, which I also think is fantastic. So if your thinking of buying this one and don't have a veg steamer and a slow cooker, this is an excellent buy!
A little expensive - but excellent for all purposes....... October 3, 2007 A Whitehead (UK) 59 out of 60 found this review helpful
It was for cooking rice that I primarily chose this. It hasn't let me down (so far) but most importantly, providing you use a rice cooker as they are supposed to, it certainly never sticks with this one. Interestingly, the porridge comes out delicious - but somehow, I do miss using the traditional saucepan!! Rice pudding the same - really tasty and easily made 'stodgy' or 'runny', but - yes I do miss the traditional way!! But as you can see I've given it 5 stars because that's is truly what it deserves. Trust me, or make your own mind up - but I have no problems in recommending this product. It really is excellent - even if a it's maybe little expensive. In the end though, I think quality and reliablity counts for more.....
Changed my life February 19, 2008 T. Drews (London, UK) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I bought this on a bit of a whim after listening to my friend wax on about her rice cooker. It is an absolute dream - both my boyfriend and I work long hours at hectic jobs and it's so nice to have a healthy and delicious curry to come home to, or easy and tasty porridge first thing in the morning. And the rice comes out perfect. All with a minimal amount of preparation and effort! Treat yourself, you will not regret it.
Keep it on the top..You will use it often. July 21, 2008 Mrs. Dorothy Howard (England) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
All too often we buy yet another gadget to add to our kitchen and then find that it disappears out of sight. This is one that I use contantly. Stew type dishes come to mind straight away because the food ends up being so tender and the taste is great because the cooking is contained in the pot. You can therefore, use the cheaper cuts of meat with great success It is absolutely great for when you have guests. I prepare food in the slow cooker before they come and then I can then spend time enjoying the visit. Recently, we all went on a picnic and returned home to a hot supper stew with crusty bread. It was so appreciated. Another event was a party where I was nominated for producing a curry dish. I took the slo-cooker with me and it finished the cooking whilst we were all having fun. One of the reasons I chose this model was because of the clip down lid. (My old crockpot tipped all it's contents into the boot of my car)It is not just for stew type dishes though. You can produce a whole chicken or joint of meat in it very successfully and puddings too!. There are hundreds of recipes out there on the internet under the heading of crockpot or slo-cooker so you will never be stuck for ideas. I do use the porridge maker too. In 9 minutes you have your porridge made. Just throw the ingredients in the pot press the button and hey presto!!(just time to take a shower) Like the other owners, I have found the rice cooker great. I often make a bigger batch and freeze what I don't use on the day. I have no hesitation in saying that this is worthy of the 5 stars that I have awarded it.
Well worth the money July 1, 2008 dazzer252 (UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
We brought this cooker initially for the rice cooking function but now also use it for porridge making and slow cooking. Its a great bit of kit thats so easy to use and clean and makes amazing rice! If you are looking at a slow cooker anyway spend a few more pounds and buy this one!
