5 out of 5 stars Magimix M150 Nespresso machine   April 11, 2003

I have been using the M150 since November 2002 and have been delighted with its performance so far. Does this thing make a great coffee or what? Oh yes; with over 9 staple varieties to choose from via the Nespresso Club with Club specials appearing throughout the year (including 2 decaff blends) you are sure to find the ideal blend. One thing I have noticed since owning the M150 is that its a lot harder to get a decent Espresso away from home!

The M150 itself is very well built with good simple controls and feels like it will last. One gripe is with the instruction manual. Its pretty poor, I guess they expected no-one to look at it.

The coffee produced is wonderful with a beautiful crema, the real plus with the Nespresso system is that you get a consistently great coffee time after time. No mess. The price of each capsule works out at 0.21, which can work out pretty expensive if you drink a lot, but I think the quality justifies the price. The milk frother takes a little practice to use, but will produce excellent results once you have the right technique. Oh if you fancy scalding hot water for a tea or hot chocolate, the frother nozzle provides this as well almost instantly.

Nespresso machines can cost over 500. The M150 does exactly the same job as those machines (albeit without all the bells & whistles) for a fraction of the price. With excellent build quality to boot.

5 out of 5 stars Magimix 150 Nespresso coffee maker   July 12, 2005

We have tried many ways of getting the best coffee out of a machine/cafetiere etc. and this is definitely the winner! As other people have said, it is not the cheapest option but the coffee is great every time with a wonderful crema. Having a selection of different coffees means you can cater for every taste. I have also found the frother very easy to use.

Having had a Magimix food processor which only let me down after 25 years of use, I feel I can trust the manufacturer as well. So far the machine has proved very reliable and the Nespresso club is efficient and orders come through very quickly.

5 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for   May 7, 2004

I first saw a Nespresso demonstration about three years ago, and I was impressed by the coffee. Almost two years ago, i finally took the plunge and purchased an M150. I've never regretted it -it produces the best expresso I've ever tasted. At 21p per cup (or 23 for the limited editions) it's not the cheapest way, but it's consistent -and very clean to use. The Nespresso club are very efficient with delivery, and very helpful when theres's a (very rare) problem.

i have been using this for a few weeks now and can only say that i am over the moon with it, I baught a cheap one a year ago and stopped using it due to poor performance. It took me a while to get round to buying a new one with much research into the machine types. I was going to buy the automatic one to start with but decide that the extra money wasnt worth it. Wasnt sure about the Nesprso club to start with either, but it is excellent and very very quick at getting the coffee to you. Like most of these things you are never sure if they are going to stop making the coffees and leave you with a machine that is useless, I have to rate this with 5 stars and would say go out and buy one now, and enjoy the coffee, it is excellent, my wife who never drinks coffe has even started to as she used to hate the stuff, this machine and coffe has changed her mind

4 out of 5 stars Excellent coffee   June 15, 2005

An easy and very tasty means of making coffee. The old caffetiere lies redundant in the cupboard. One small criticism of this model is its fragile frame - particularly the water container and base. An excellent after-sales service- Nespresso are always there ready to help. The capsules can be ordered on the internet and arrive very promptly.
