Customer Reviews:
Delonghi EC7 coffee maker May 27, 2008 B. Garfield (london England) I had to take the opportunity to be the first to review this machine after owning it for a few years now. I have been thinking about replacing it with a pump machine for about 50 - 100 as the coffee I made wasn't how I wanted it, tasting like burnt plastic with warm milk, very dissapointing. I have now cracked it. I bought a coffee tempa( 3.50 from starbucks/Sainsburys) to press down the coffee, used a decent coffee and got a bottle of hazlenut flavour syrup (Starbucks 3.50), add to this some chocolate/hot choc sprinkles on top, perfect. By compressing the coffee, the taste is strong and tasty and hot, as it takes longer to filter through. On this machine, when making a mug for myself, I pour in water to the 4mark and when the coffee is up to the cappucino steam mark on the glass jug, immerse the milk frother for about 30secs then move it up to just below the surface to froth the milk. Perfect, and all from a machine selling for about 20. Okay its not a pump machine so You'll have to wait for it to cool down before making another coffee, and it's not made of stainless steel, but the resulting coffee is the most important, and when done right, this machine produces.
