Kenwood CM651 February 5, 2005 Frodo (Bristol, UK) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
This product was chosen from around 20 on display. The reason this came top of the list was because it looks good, has only got features that are usable and above all is people friendly. The jug is easy to put onto the hot plate, the filter area swings open and so is easy to put coffee in, the water tank holds upto 18 cups and so is quite large for friends coffee mornings and it is reasonably priced. Finally, the area where most other makes fell down was the bit where the coffee drips through. This was the only model I saw that had a robust design for this crucial part. The jug slides in easily pressing up onto a solid plastic dome and it gives a positive feel when in place. Perfect, oh and the coffee tastes great too!
Been running for 18 months with no problems October 12, 2007 I don't have a pen name (West London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I see others have had issues with this machine so I guess I can count myself lucky that I've had mine over 18 months and it has been faultless, I'd say it's used twice a week on average. Decent quality filter coffee machines are hard to find these days with all this coffee pod nonsense. The kenwood provides good tasting coffee everytime, though I would say that the hotplate is a little too hot if the coffee is left to stand for a while. Yes the unit is tall but it fits on my counter unit fine. The reusable filter is adequate but disposable ones are better. On the whole for the 24.99 I paid I've been very happy and this'll keep me going until I win the lottery and can afford a Jura!
