Real coffee at last! February 3, 2007 Mrs. Karen Lesley Dodgson 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
We have been through so many machines in the search for real coffee (filters, cafetieres, percolators, coffee bags, you name it!) The ones that made decent coffee took ages to clean, but the most recent purchase (a Phillips Senseo) was easy to clean but made disgusting lukewarm coffee. Finally, we decided to invest in the Magimix Cube and we are in coffeee heaven! Real coffee, hot!, and SO easy to clean, fill and operate. It can even be adjusted by holding the button down to dispense the right amount of water to fit your own cups. Brilliant! The pods really do taste good, and having a selection is a great idea as you sometimes want a strong/medium/decaff cup, and having a selection of pods means you can cater for your every wish without the coffee going off. As for having to buy the pods by post, its not so bad - the company offer a huge mixed set of 250 pods which should last a fair while!
Marvellous December 16, 2006 Greg Ayres (Macclesfield, UK) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Makes espresso that would embarrass Starbucks. I thought the idea of having all the different blends was a bit of a gimmick, but you can really taste the difference in the flavours. It takes virtually no cleaning and heats up in 30 seconds. It can make another cup as soon as it's finsihed the last. Looks amazing in the flesh. For the money (including Xmas 40 cashback), this is remarkable value for money. I've had a Expresso machine for years and hardly used it becuase of the waitng and the hassle and the cleaning. This answers all the problems and I think ours will get some serious use. The only slight negative is that you really have to mail order/internet order the capsules. There are only two Nespresso shops in the UK and they're both in London (surprise, surprise). They're not available in normal supermarkets.
Great Machine, Great Coffee February 2, 2007 M. Arrowsmith (Blackburn, Lancashire) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Not only does this machine look great, it is extremely easy to use and clean. It only takes a few seconds for the pump to get up to pressure, then pop your capsule in, press a button and you've got a perfect cup of espresso. Cleaning couldn't be easier. The capsule ejects into a little container in the machine which easily slides out and is easliy cleaned. The nespresso range of coffee is also excellent and you really can taste the difference between the blends. Unfortunately, the capsules are not available in your local supermarket but can be ordered by phone or over the internet. The service is excellent in my experience.
