Wonderfully quiet and powerful processor December 14, 2006 Katie Lowe 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
I ordered this processor after I bounced the bowl of my Waring duet blender/processor (see separate review) and broke some of the plastic lugs which held the lid on. It turns out that it's essentially impossible to get a spare bowl and so I looked for a complete replacement. The Magimix doesn't do (at least in theory) as much, as it's just a processor and doesn't have a blender jug. But the build quality is fabulous, the spare parts are easy and cheap to get and it feels much more solid than the Waring. The motor is also very quiet and it makes very short work of chopping whatever you throw into it. The mini bowl, which sits (after a bit of fiddling) on top of the larger bowl, looks a bit gimmicky, but it's really good for chopping small amounts of things like garlic. The processor also comes with several other attachments, including juicer, a whisk, and a grater, none of which I've tried. I liked the Waring a lot, but this processor is really a great deal better, at least for my purposes; it's weighty, more sturdily constructed, looks good and strikes me as better value for money.
