Amazon.co.uk Review
Healthy fruit and vegetable juices are full of the nutrients that a human body needs, and this juicer gives you a tasty way to get those necessary vitamins. Made specifically for home use, the Juicelady is compact in size (standing about 11 inches high), yet powerful enough to grind a whole fruit or vegetable, including the rind, stems and seeds. Its basket--which contains the blade--is constructed from very fine stainless-steel micromesh that strains the pulp from the juice. The manufacturer has included a multitude of recipes--some familiar and some exotic concoctions--to help you get the best use out of the juicer every day. The juicer contains several parts, but it is easy to take apart and easy to reassemble. --Teresa Simanton, Amazon.com

5 out of 5 stars Small, neat and effective   August 4, 2006

My first impression of the machine on the display shelf it looked a bit small and wimpy. But it was half the price of other juicers on show so I bought one to try out. Don't judge a book by the cover! Simple to assemble with 5 removable parts. Put the drip tray on top of the main body, pop on the sieve, put on the lid and snap down the clips, place the pulp bin under the rear of the lid and your ready to go.

The motor is quite quiet and won't wake the neighbours first thing. I haven't found anything that slows it down much yet. It can handle veg like parsnips, carrots and beets with ease and extracts a good amount of juice very quickly. The plastic doesn't stain to badly either with veg like carrots or beetroot only leave a slight discolouration on the plastic.

TIP: Line the pulp bin with a carrier bag to save washing up!

It's easy to clean but a small washing up brush is best for the strainer to remove the pulp. The only minor grumble is poking kitchen roll down the side of the plastic sprocket the strainer sits on to clean out small amounts of juice that dribble through.

TIP: Push soft fleshed fruit through with harder ones like a whole carrot on one side of the chute with a stack of strawberries on the other. It does tend to spit out soft stuff quickly.

Overall very good and well worth the money for small juice volumes.

I was so impressed with this product what we expected with the name being junior was a small unit may be ideal for one person, the size is ideal for our average kitchen and is perfect for two people. It also has a very power full motor I strongly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Effective 2 /3 person juicer   December 28, 2003

I bought this model for my parents. I have the Kenwood JE550 juicer which is ideal for one person but too small for several people.

The juice lady junior components all stack on top of each other which makes it easy to assemble and dissassemble. The motor seems powerful enough to get through carrots and hard apples in about a second.
The device is not too bulky so should be able to find a home in your cupbaords.

Nice touches
The Raised rubber feet absorb any motor vibration effectively and allow good air flow over the motor to keep that cool.
The pulp hopper is big and separate from the body of the device. Resulting pulp is slightly moist so quite an efficient filter mechanism.

Niggles
The inlet hopper seems no bigger than my one-person JE550, so you have to do a fair amount of slicing to get the fruit or veg to a size to enter the feed-tube.

Also, the "prodder" is identical in colour to the rest of the body, which if like me you forget is inside the feed tube, you spend ten minutes trying to find it.

The juice is quite "foamy" initially - which I think happens with all these design of shredder and filter. I like the "light" quality of the juice as a result - but some may not.

The design of this conical slicer and filter (again seems common to many devices) makes it difficult to really clean the pulp from the filter. (half star lost as not an exclusive problem for this device)

Concerns
The latches are effective at clamping the whole thing tightly together so there are no leaks. However, the attachment points seem pretty flimsy to me, so they might be knocked off - and they don't look replaceable to me. Also the latching takes a moderate amount of force so the infirm might have a problem securing the latches. (half star lost because latches ARE secure and not all will find this a problem)

I bought this juicer in december 2003 and have loved it ever since. i think it is definately good value for money .i would/have recommended to anyone. the only small prob i find (probably the same with more expensive machines) is that it can be a little messy. it tends to splash a little but this is such a tiny prob far outweighed by all the other great features. i was very suprised by how powerful it is for such a small compact machine.it juices pieces of fruit in seconds.it is very enjoyable to use.quite theraputic in a strange kind of way.i am very happy with it and am very glad i made the decision to finally buy it(i had been thinking about it for ages).

4 out of 5 stars A Great Value Juicer   January 25, 2005

I bought this last night from Tesco's (for 25), and got a taxi home, and see it online here for 21.97. Doh. You can tell I'm a pennypincher :)

I'm impressed with this, it's powerful, it juices everything effortlessly. Though you can't do bananas, as they apparently clog up the filter, easily mixed with my hand blender though.

I'm a novice to juicing, but I think it's a great idea as I love smoothies, and I need a bit of encouragement to eat more fruits and vegetables.

The only thing I'm not happy with is the pulp container, which is loose and not clipped onto the machine, and bits tend to stray if you don't keep an eye on it. But for the price it's well worth the money.
