This thermometer has a nice design: the adjustable clip allows it to be secured to the rim of practically any pan; the bulb is adequately protected from damage; it is easy to clean; it is sufficiently accurate.
However, the scale is only printed on the surface of the metal and is not resistant to oils. If you're making anything containing butter, for example, you may find as I did that the scale subsequently rubs off very easily, leaving barely any trace.
Thus, this product is satisfactory if you only make jam or craft pure sugar, but for confectionery it is not an appropriate choice.
