Excellent Item December 8, 2008 Mr. A. J. Munro 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just a quick note about the charging facility on this item. It doesn't actually need any special charger. The charging port will accept a charge from a standard USB port on any PC. You only need a standard USB cable. This means you can quickly charge it from any home pc.
Great Product - Worth every penny January 23, 2007 Mimosa Cymru (Pontypridd, Cymru) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great idea. A radio for any use, any time. Wind-up, mains or solar charged battery reduces the need for using disposable batteries and/or rechargeables that you need to mains charge. Highly recommended, though I still haven't found a good use for the torch yet... but I'm sure there is one.

Great idea with some buts... July 25, 2008 k-a-w (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like all Freeplay products this is a great idea. This radio seems very well made and has a good feel to it. It works well from solar power (I have noticed that the solar panel doesn't work as well when placed on the sill of my double glazed windows. I'm guessing that the windows are filtering in some way?!) or the winder. It does have the tendency to drift off channel occasionally and need retuning. The tuning dial also has a rather crude movement to it. This radio is also mains rechargeable but oddly doesn't come with a charger, which has to be purchased separately! I think that this would have been more use than the torch feature which seems a rather odd thing to include as it can't be used to help tune the radio in the dark as it is fixed and can't be made to shine on the tuning dial! Surely illuminating this dial would have been a better feature? Overall though this is a good product which cuts out the need to buy power cells and is ready to use at any time virtually anywhere.
